Don’t need this in the climb but it sure is the right thing to have for travel. No more holes!

Holds on better than expected

Definitely saved my sternum leaned into grab something from my pack and pushed the axe between me and the floor, spike up.

Well built

The caps fit well and and easy to use. I did a double hitch on handle to keep cover on when not in use and it seems to stay

Better than petzl

The petzl cover is more malleable and fits better on multiple spikes, but it falls off and gets lost. The bd one may be more clunky but it is more secure.

Great fit

Works perfectly. Stays in place while you’re climbing or traveling so the rest of your gear doesn’t get shredded.

No more worrying about poking my eyes out working around small spaces with my ice tools/axes attached to my bag. Simple and easy to use.

Not great for Raven Pro, Raven Ultra

If you have a ice tool with a finger rest, proceed. If you have the Raven or especially the Raven Ultra... maybe not so useful as the bungee strap isn't easy to attach, or give much security. They suggest a girth hitch or prussik lol. Like I know what a girth hitch is, I'm just a lowly alpinist.
