Keeps your big wall belay from becoming a clustergaggle.

Simplify your hanging-belay rope management with the Black Diamond Rope Bucket. This slender nylon bag holds one 11mm or two 9mm ropes, and the side zipper increases its girth to allow easy access to your lines. The Rope Bucket also keeps your ropes protected from rock falls, tangling, snagging behind flakes, and other sorts of big wall carnage.

  • Holds one 11mm or two 9mm ropes
  • Shoulder strap for easy transport

Anyone used this for canyoneering yet?

Great for soloing

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times

If i'm doing a longer lead solo pitch ill flake the rope in this so the rope feeds into the device nicely, it also makes the rope neater in your pack.

Works Fine

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times

Works fine, durable, the zipper makes it easier to stack a rope while hanging. Nothing fancy, don't love it but it gets the job done.

Fits 11mm x60m only if the rope is really supple. I have some static 11mm with a pretty stiff hand that won't fit.

Will this bag hold 300' of 9mm rope?

Will this bag hold 300' of 9mm rope?

A standard rope is 60 meters long, which is roughly 190 feet. This bucket is designed to hold two 9 mm ropes (around 380 feet), so I'm pretty sure 300 feet will fit just fine.

Happy trails!

I really like this bag. The black diamond rope bucket carries my 10.7mm 70m sterling marathon rope at about max capacity. The fabric is burly, 3 clip-in loops make for a nice hanging option, 2 padded straps for carrying backpack style, the lower shoulder straps release so the straps can be stowed for hauling (to reduce snags). Compared to the Fish chum bucket this bag seems like a better value. However, if you are looking to stack 2 ropes in a convenient bag, the Fish snake charmer is the cat's ass.

Not perfect but it beats the butterfly coil

I bought this bag thinking I could save some coin over the Fish snake charmer
and chumm bucket as my older A-5 rope buckets are starting to show there age and while I think Black garbage is on the right track they could have put some more effort into the design like adding a daisy chain and extending the hang loops I dont agree with there claims of holding two 9mm ropes as I can hardly fit my 9.8x70m in it..but for solo work and just a cheap rope management tool
it fits the bill,If your serious your money is better spent on the fish gear..
