A sleek, lightweight pole that tears it up in the backcountry.

Great set of poles for less $$
- Gender: Male
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
Previously had the BD Traverse poles and these are very similar except better. Same aluminum top with the extra grip, the big difference is the carbon lower area of the pole... There is almost no bend when pushing down to stand up. These are very sturdy poles. I had previously bent my pair of BD traverse poles, the lower shaft which was made of aluminum had bent. These feel and preform so much stronger and it really gives a sense of confidence from them.... Enjoy!!
BD Razor Carbon
These poles are solid. Light, strong & adjustable on the fly.
Great pole. Light, strong. Good basket. Flicklock makes adjusting really easy when you want a little more length for that uphill work
Great - 2 Suggestions
This is my third season with these poles and they're generally great. I have two recommendations for anybody buying them:
-Get the longer ones. I've never needed my poles to be shorter than 115cm, but often want them longer than 125 for steep skin tracks.
-Make sure you tighten the Flicklock closure. It can sometimes loosen and then you'll just scrape up the lower pole section and need to adjust constantly.
Will fit the job
On multiday backcountry skitrips you want reliable poles. These will do the job. They survived two seasons of heavy use and abuse during ski touring and free riding. The grips are great, the poles are stiff, the baskets big enough, adjustability stays put when needed. Great product!
I have had these for over three years and they are still going strong!
Red Carbon Pole
Excellent ski pole.Strong, durable save some weight
with the carbon.Adjustability is cool and it stays locked
out when you pole plant. There is no issue with the pole
slipping from position.Quickly lengthen and shorten.
Price is for pair or just per one pole?...
Price is for pair or just per one pole? Thx.
Can you chance the brasket on the these...
Can you chance the brasket on the these poles? do you have the Armada JJ ski pole from 08/09?
Yes, you can change these baskets.
ARE THEY INCLUDED?
If it is this years pole (which i think it is) it will come with full size BD baskets and not the 3/4 basket from years gone by. Cheers!
picked up a pair after Christmas. Been using them for alpine sking as well as backcountry / tele sking. Very light, strong and dependable. The wris strap has a yoke / stirrup design which makes it easy to slip your hands into. I switch out the full snow basket for the half basket when at the resort. My only complaint is that they don't pack down as small as the expedition poles, so strapping to my pack isn't as convenient.
Vat is chancing ze braskets? Dees sounds vilder dan the time i was chasing me sheep across the Changtse in vinter storm. plees teach
I love skiing with these poles. Very light and snappy. everything about them is on point!
Black Diamond Razor Carbon Ski Pole
Snagged the Black Diamond Razor Carbon Ski Pole for tours in the backcountry and occasional resort duty. I'll follow up at season's end with a report on durability, but I really like the pole out of the box. Low swing weight, nice big powder baskets and good attention to detail. Although the pics don't show it, the poles also ship with a rubber grip midway down on the aluminum section, which will be nice for traversing when you'd rather not adjust the pole length on the uphill pole.
