Great probe would prefer longer tho!

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This probe is great. It is what it says, light, quick to draw, measurements and built strong. Cons are I would prefer longer I had a friend live buried 45 minutes with avalung and if the rescuer had this probe he would have never found the burial victim. Also not the easiest to break back down but overall great probe. I have compared to others in classes and I like my probe.

Light!

Very light, and a decent length for here in the East. Kept this on my pack for Mt. Washington, and haven't had to use it yet, but for practicing, its awesome. Very easy to deploy, and the bag it comes in is great to make the probe very accessible.

Great and Light

Granted, I've never had another probe, but I love this one. I went with this one to keep the weight down (even though it's only a bit lighter than other BD probes), but it has worked well in searches, both practice and otherwise. The quick pull trigger works well if you practice a few times with it... fling it out and pull basically. It has proven strong as well.

Why is it so short.

Responded on

It's 7 feet long, which is not particularly short.
