Designed for long alpine routes or ice cragging in moderate temperatures, the Black Diamond Punisher Glove combines premium dexterity with full weather protection. A BDry waterproof breathable insert seals out the wetness you’re sure to encounter, while the Pittards leather palm provide solid grip on your tools. Black Diamond also added EVA foam inserts for protection against knuckle-bashing swings.
Bottom Line: Show no mercy on your winter climbing objective with the Punisher Glove.
I loved these guys, but they aren't too durable. The seams in the index finger and thumb where the leather meets synthetic has worn out. MORE LEATHER PLEASE!!!
Bought to get a warmer & drier glove than the Cloudveil gloves I was using that were on the road to fail (then I lost one anyway).
Warm and still offer a good amount of grip/feel.
Fit is pretty decent, but on my pair the cut on the pinky finger doesn't go deep enough. So they feel a bit weird, but seemed to get a bit better with break in.
Haven't really tested them to the rated temps yet, but they are keeping my digits toasty down into the 20-25F range so I suspect they can live up to their 15F rating.

Gloves in the modern style of "climb light and swap to belay mitts if it's frigid". I've used these down to about 10F in reasonable comfort. The fit is superb, and the combination of softshell outer and light fleece insulation makes for gloves in which I can handle gear, tie knots, use my fingers. The leather, fabric, stitching have held up well so far. I'd like to say that I don't need the "ice armor" on the backs, but more than once the foam has saved me from bruised to a hand or finger.
Negatives... They're not especially waterproof, but then what glove is out in the snow. They stay dry enough over the course of a day out on the ice. The fleece liner packs down quickly. I have yet to wash these, so the liners may refluff when I do. And the fixed liner makes the gloves slow to dry, which is problematic when living out of a tent instead of a lodge or hut. The real solution to points 2 and 3 is a modular glove with replaceable liner gloves. These seem to be out of favor these days, so BD is in the mainstream with this glove. Oh well...
Overall I like very much. Compared to the BD Specialist the Punishers have much better feel and dexterity, yet the Punishers seem fairly tough and reasonably warm. If you climb in the light-glove style these are a great choice.
A very nice glove for ice climbing in moderate temperatures - teens to 30's. They are very tactile for clipping and putting in screws. The padding is a plus to protect your knuckles. The leather wicks water even with nikwax applications but they are the best I've found since my favorite Mountain Hardware gloves were discontinued. I'm very happy with them.
Love everything about these gloves. Light, breathable, v. grippy (even when wet) and far warmer than expected. Have used them in temps down to 3 degrees (Fahrenheit) -16 degrees (Celsius) (257 kelvin if anyone's interested ;-) . Probably wouldn't want to sit around in them at that temp, but for moderate exertion or more they stayed plenty warm. One drawback for me personally medium was a bit too small and large a bit to big. Without this goldilocks issue I would have rated them 5 stars.
The pictures don't do them justice! They look like another set of bulky winter gloves, they are anything but! Very comfortable, form fitting, easily able to grip your board, especially with the leather enhancements, haven't dropped my keys yet! Definitely worth the price!
Love these gloves for leading ice and dealing with gear (seconding). Bring a second pair of warmer gloves on really cold days for belays and recovering from screaming barfies. The Punisher kills it for dexterity and dryness.
