Black Diamond Prodigy is a cold weather glove for climbers and skiers who demand superb dexterity and durability. The Prodigy is a little bit lighter than the Guide Glove and has a four-way stretch Schoeller shell with a Gore-Tex insert to provide absolute weather protection. The goatskin palm and fingers enhance durability and increase grip on wet ski poles or frozen ice tools. A short gauntlet keeps the snow out and cuts down on weight. The Polartec Thermal Pro Hi-Loft liner can be removed for fast drying. For technical activities in cold environments, the Prodigy is the glove of choice.

Bottom Line: A light, dry, warm glove for cold, wet, harsh environments.

B/D Prodigy

Great Glove. Just used mine in -25 degrees F in both strenuous and static activity. Liners are easy to remove and dry, shell is very durable. They're really easy on and off for a liner glove, even if you've sweated the liner damp. A little bulky for activity that requires minute dexterity, but the easy on and off solves that. A great product, my wife and boss are getting a pair now as well. Mine look like they're gonna last a while.

Whole Lotta Glove

This glove rocks...it is dumping snow here in Aspen, and I would only consider the Prodigy for the outdoor cold weather, powder conditions. Worth every cent. Back to the POW with my Prodigy's...later.

Solid glove, needs some tweaks

Like every glove from Black Diamond that I have owned this glove is super warm and built to last. I really like the fact that the gauntlet is shorter in length than an "elbow gauntlet" that other gloves have. My only beef with this glove and it was enough that I sold them to a friend is that the pull string and cinch on the gauntlet doesn't close tight enough to keep the snow/wind out. The placement of the gauntlet cinch and the fabric surrounding it bunch up and didn't perform to my expectations. It could be me and/or the jacket I wear but I'd like to see this re-done before I'll buy another pair of this particular BD glove. Good thing they make other models - I'm sold on BD!

Worth the money. I live in Alaska and I can say these are one of the few gloves I trust up here.
