hmm...

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

After reading reviews I was debating if this would have plastic pieces on the front... Upon delivery low and behold, it did have plastic adjustment straps...
at first I was kinda pissed off, but then upon further inspection, it seems totally safe (why the hell would BD sell something that wasn't??) as they only adjust elastic WITHIN the webbing of the legloops, so if they ever do break this thing should still do its job.
But thats just my first impression... just something to be aware of... its also super comfortable and I really look forward to using it more!

First Harness & Happy

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I purchased this harness based off of the reviews below and high community rating - I am glad I did. I am 5'4" with a 26" waist, and got a S. I tighten the waist all the way, but do not think I would want the leg loops any smaller. Overall, the harness is super comfortable and I look forward to wearing it in!

Great for the Beginner

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

A cool friend/significant other get you addicted to rock climbing? Tired of those nasty, uncomfortable rental harnesses? Want to take your climbing to the next level? Buy this harness! I have been climbing for about 6 months now, and I absolutely love this harness. I was a total beginner when I started but wanted a harness that was comfortable and safe enough to help me step up my rock climbing skills. This is it! Love it. Inexpensive, functional, comfortable, stylish, has enough gear loops, etc. I am fairly tall, 6'0" to be exact, and I was in between sizes. I am a 29"/30" waist, so I didn't know if I should get the M or L. I got the M and it fits great! The L would have been too big and the S too small for my volleyball-player thighs haha. I synch it all the way in the waist, but I definitely needed the M for the leg loop sizing. Very adjustable to your body! Buy this. You'll be happy you did.

Climb ON!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've had this harness for about 4 months now and it's pretty cool! It's light-weight easy to put on, take off and adjust. BAM! You are on the wall in seconds. I would totally recommend this harness for beginner to intermediate climbers. It’s a perfect harness to progress in because you don’t have to worry about fiddling or adjusting with this bad girl! You can just focus on the climb.
My only “complaint” and I use that term lightly is the adjustable leg loops are nice but you really have to synch them down for them to not ride up. Synching them down like that can cause less blood flow so your legs can start to become tired faster. So if you were planning on doing multi pitches or trad climbing I wouldn’t recommend this harness. But if you are just starting and want to become more aggressive, this harness will help you progress! I love this harness it has been through a lot I got my first multi pitch in it and my first lead climb and I think that it works for what it is. I am 27 in the waist and I got the XS and it’s hard to get over my hips (because I’m a bit wider there) but it fits my waist perfectly. If you have any questions about this harness you can get a hold of me via our life help feature and just ask for Jane H.

This harness is light weight and very comfortable, the straps for your legs are very adjustable. So far so good.

How can I measure for my size? Is there a measuring chart I can use?

Hey fellow Amy!
At the top of the product page, underneath where you can select the different sizes there is a little blue link that says "Size?" Click on that and it will help you out! I own this harness in a medium and I'm about a size 4-6 in pants.

Girlfriend seems to like it.

Suggested this harness because it was so much like my momentum harness. Turns out its just as great.

Two chalky thumbs up!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I'm a beginner and have been climbing for a little over a month now, and this harness has been absolutely perfect for me! It's so comfortable and fits perfectly. Black Diamond's sizing (http://www.backcountry.com/Store/content/sizingChart.jsp?chartId=720&categoryId=bcsCat811000294) is spot on too. I checked my measurements and ordered an extra small, which is exactly what I needed.

I tried a few different harnesses, from some older Black Diamond models to some other ones I rented from the climbing gym. I eventually was given the Primrose to rent one day and fell in love. It's SO comfy and fits so well! Definitely felt best wearing this.

I was looking at getting either this Primrose or Black Diamond's Siren for my first harness. I ultimately decided on this one, since it's more versatile, allowing me to not only sport climb, but also eventually do some trad climbing as well. Additionally, I know someone with a Siren harness, and she's always complaining that there isn't a haul loop in the back like there is on the Primrose.

All around very happy with this harness! :)

Stoked.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is the second harness that I have purchased and so far no complaints at all. Have been loving the fit and function. I have mostly been using this for trad climbing and it's been great under the weight of a trad rack, comfy in hanging belays, and I'm diggin the blue color. Thumbs up and would recommend this product to friends.

Fantastic Harness

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Does the job. At 5'9" and 110 pounds I fit perfectly in the XS. Easy to get on and off quickly because of the speed adjust, comfortable enough to wear it on and off the approach. I love it.

A sturdy, comfortable harness

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I am new to rock climbing so this is my first harness I bought. I bought it my decision off the reviews I read on this product. I absolutely love this harness! I am 5' weighing 95 lbs and an XS fit perfectly. At first I was a little skeptical because I was use to the thick straps on a rental harness, but I adjusted to this one very quickly. I feel more confident and safe when climbing up routes. In fact, my climbing partner said she is going to get one too!

Very good harness!

I use this harness for indoor and outdoor climbing, and it works great for both. It's very comfortable and fits really well. It has an automatic double-back waist buckle and adjustable leg loops, which are great. It also comes in a handy bag, so it's easy to store and carry. I definitely recommend this harness.

Very good harness!
