Standard

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

As Bryan mentioned, these are some standard liners with the BD logo slapped on. Didn't notice much difference in moisture management from my regular polyester liners-- once they're wet, my hands get cold. (I use em for ski touring) The cuff is also a little shorter than my older polyester liners, which was kind of a bummer.
I did not, however, have problems with the touchscreen pads, they pretty much work as you would expect. They're decent at odor management too. For $20, they get the job done.

Touchscreen Capability? Not so much..

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I purchased these gloves, mostly because they are touchscreen compatible. When I received them, there were no surprises with the quality of the gloves - a standard liner with the Black Diamond name slapped on the top. However...the touchscreen finger-pads are hopeless. I'm not even sure anyone on the Black Diamond product development team tried using them with a standard touchscreen before selling them to stores. Better yet, I'm not even sure any of the backcountry.com buyers tried using them before throwing them up on the website. Touchscreens simply don't react to these gloves unless you push down with the force of God. In fact, I have more success operating my iPhone and typing in my password using my nose.

In summary, are they liners? Yes. Are they touchscreen compatible? Hardly.
