    Positively perfect.

Black Diamond's Positron Screwgate Carabiner is the locker that every dirtbag climber dreams of, due to its solid security, compact lightness, and dirt-cheap price tag. Despite its inexpensiveness, the Positron still styles the ever-popular keylock nose for snag-free unclipping.

    One Of My First

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I like this carabiner a lot, it feels heavy duty without feeling overly heavy. So far it has been my go to for my tube belay and works great. As some have said I have noticed a groove being worn into it from the rope. All around good carabiner, worth the price. For me as a newbie to the buying of climbing gear, I'm glad I have this carabiner, but I now know why some carabiners are more specifically designed.

    Can't have too many!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I'd rather have too many lockers than not enough. I have 5 or 6 of these in my pack: I use them for every type of anchor, clipped to my prussik knot backup while rappelling, redirecting the brake rope to safely lower much heavier climbers, haul systems, the list goes on.

You could safely use them for belaying in a pinch, but I prefer a much bigger belay biner myself. I marked the noses with a few dots of nail polish to quickly differentiate mine from others' biners so there are no mixups when packing up (***pic to come***).

    Great smaller biner

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These are great. I recommend them for purposes requiring a locking carabiner, but not a huge radius. They are light, and the twist lock and gate are super smooth. My primary use is setting top rope anchors.

    Go-To Accessory Locker

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The Positron is a rad biner for anchors and just about everything else besides rappelling, where you'll be better off with a locker that has a rounded basket profile (instead of the Positron's I-beam style). They're pretty light, compact, and have an easy screw and clipping movement.

    BD Positron

Good go-to locking biner. Have used for basic functions like setting up a top rope anchor, using with a personal anchor to clean sport routes, and for using w/ a prusik when rapping w/ an ATC. Have used with a belay device for sport climbing, but have since acquired a belay specific locking biner that I love (prevents rotation of carabiner and crossloading). This carabiner has a narrower gate than others (like the petzl attaché), so depending on what you are using it for could be an issue.

When will you have the positron BLD00HL back in stock? Really like this carabiner. Please contact
