Ultralight functionality to help you send successfully.

The minimalist Black Diamond Ozone Harness takes the weight off your waist so you can do some serious sport cragging comfortably. Its Kinetic Core Construction consists of a durable, abrasion-resistant nylon shell, a breathable 3D AirMesh lining, and strands of liquid crystal polymer in the center that evenly distribute your body's weight across the harness so you can hang in it comfortably without the need of bulky foam padding. The Forged Speed Adjust buckle has a raised side rail that helps prevent abrasions against the webbing, an upturned baseplate that allows an easier lift for loosening, and a rear kick down on the top plate that eliminates any slippage while you climb.

The Ozone also features elasticized leg loops that softly secure your legs without the use of buckles, and you can adjustable the non-release elastic rear riser for an ideal fit. Four pressure-molded gear loops give plenty of space for all your quickdraws and other equipment so you're ready to send some of the longest, hardest, and most fun routes around.

Here's what others have to say...

Great sport harness

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

This is a great sport harness that has 2 gear loops with room for 20 or so draws. I don't use it for multi-pitch as it isn't the most comfortable to hang in; it doesn't have a ton of padding or adjustable leg loops but cuts weight for harder sport climbs. Falls in it are completely fine just don't hang in it for too long or you may run into some hamstring discomfort.

Great sport harness

Light and Comfortable

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

I really enjoy this harness. So light yet still has the comfort. There is no haul loop. In order to attach my chalk bag, I stripped the core out of some paracord and tied it around the back between the elastic things. But yea, its a great harness. Less padding than others but totally work it if you want light. I've taken falls on it and it's pretty good!

Hey PalmTree!
Welcome back to the Backcountry community! Thanks fore the awesome reviews.

Light and Comfortable

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

I started climbing at the gym after a 20 yrs hiatus, and figure my 25 yr old Petzl harness, that barely still fit, ought to be replaced. I was looking for light weight and comfortable, and I got both. This harness is the opposite of bulky (maybe svelte is the right word). It is also pretty comfortable. I don't know that I would like to be hanging in it for a multi day endeavor , but for sport or gym routes it's perfect. I even like the color.

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times

I've been using this a few times a week for a few months now and I can say the only thing this harness is missing is a haul loop on the back. Given that this isn't really a big wall type of setup, I suppose it doesn't really need one. I guess it's not really much of a con when you consider what a lightweight harness it is.

It's comfortable. My big legs fit in the loops just fine. The measurements seem spot on. It folds up pretty neatly for sliding into my small pack.

Better upgrade

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

Great sport climbing harness. This is a much better upgrade than the previous model. The leg loops don't fold up while your climbing like the previous one. Its also better put together. No loose threads or anything. Very lightweight, packable, and awesome for sending. Trad, Sport, this harness is great for everything. If your looking for a lightweight bomber harness look no further.

Anyone know how this is changed/upgraded...

Anyone know how this is changed/upgraded from the previous Ozone model?

well dude I admit I own neither versions. the only research answers I could find is the simple once saved (2014 10.5 oz vs 2013 11.3 oz) and new color. the reviews say it's a great, lightweight, and comfortable harness. and with the upgrades over the years the new models come with four pressure molded gear loops and the elastic on the leg loops have quick release buckles.
