I picked up this harness when I noticed that taking falls in my Arcteryx R300 was a little less than super comfortable. Its a very good lightweight harness that strikes a perfect balance between comfort and minimalism. Its not great at hanging belays (but that's not what its built for). The 4 gear loops are adequate, but racking anything more than a light rack would not be possible. For a large rack of draws, this thing works just fine.

Looking to upgrade from my BD momentum AL to a higher quality harness for all-around Trad, sport, and route climbing. Would this be better than my momentum? If so, please tell me the uprades.

If I were you, I'd rather go with the Chaos harness. I had the previous version of this harness and it wasn't comfortable. -- here's my review of it -

"This is definitely a solid harness if you are a gym goer, but even if you're leading sport outside you'll need to clean a route or two eventually. In the time it takes you to clean something, your legs and male parts will be numb. The lack of weight is definitely due to a lack of padding. Don't ever think about setting up a fixed line and taking photos in this harness. Your manhood will hate you for it."

It looks like they've added more gear loops (good!), but the padding looks similar. Unless you are highly concerned with weight and a competitive climber, I wouldn't worry about the extra weight of the Chaos, which certainly has more padding.

I thought this would just be a sport climbing harness for me but once I started using it I began to really like its simplicity and fit. It became my favorite harness and I started to wear it all of the time. Amazing how comfortable it is being so light. At this point I have been through a handful of hanging belays with this harness and it was surprisingly not too bad. I have used this harness for mountaineering, ski-mountaineering, alpine climbing, multi-pitch trad and sport climbing and been happy with it in all situations. With four gear loops there is enough room for a fat rack at the creek. Awesome as an alpine harness because of it is lightweight and the fact that it fits so well that you hardly know it is on when hiking or scrambling. It lacks adjustable leg loops which would make it a better alpine harness but that would only add weight. I have had no problem getting this harness on over ski boots. A ski boots with crampons would be tight but you could probably do it carefully. Overall I am super impressed with the versatility of this 'sport climbing' harness.

How many gear loops (total) does this...

How many gear loops (total) does this harness have? Backcountry shows it with two total, BD's website shows it with four total.
