The Ozone Harness uses Black Diamond’s unique Kinetic Core Construction to lower weight and improve comfort during long projecting sessions and, of course, your send. Instead of wrapping a piece of one-inch webbing with padding, this Black Diamond harness uses a completely different design to spread your weight over the entire width of the bullhorn waist-belt and leg loops. A Speed Adjust buckle lets you in and out quickly, and two gear loops hold all the draws you need for 15-bolts worth of crimping pump.
This is definitely a solid harness if you are a gym goer, but even if you're leading sport outside you'll need to clean a route or two eventually. In the time it takes you to clean something, your legs and male parts will be numb. The lack of weight is definitely due to a lack of padding. Don't ever think about setting up a fixed line and taking photos in this harness. Your manhood will hate you for it.
Lastly, only two gear loops is pretty lame. I'll definitely be getting another harness for outside climbing.

i've got a 33-34" waist and am about 25" in the thighs with pants on... i can't find the ozone in person so i'm not able to try it on... don't know if it runs big, small, or true to size... with my size, should i be in an L or XL?
I've been through a couple of different harnesses that were nice, so I thought up until I bought the Ozone Harness a couple of weeks ago. I've only used it in a indoor spot so far, but I seriously kept forgetting I even had a harness on. Best Harness yet!
has anyone else ever had an issue with harnesses that don't adjust on the thighs?...my petzl one is just a TAD to big on my skinny legs and barely fits on my waist...and it crunches and squishes the hades out of my junk...
My experience with the difference has been only in versatility. If it gets cold out I have a real heck of a time fitting my non-adjustable harness over my layering. Be realistic about the conditions and variations you are going to see before you decide which harness you want.
You are very right there, non-adjustable leg loops will bite if you they aren't snug enough. However I will take a bite over falling through my harness anyday. Sizing is everything which is why people need to find the best fit in a store before shopping online.
Ryan, The only harnesses I have used have had adjustable leg loops, but you are not alone. On more than one occasion I have left the leg loops slightly less than tight and paid the price during a fall when the leg loops find their way up into man-part-town. It may also have something to do with undergarment choice, but I will leave that subject alone.
I've been climbing a lot in this harness lately, and really appreciate the way it strikes the balance between comfort and lightweight design. The gear loops are great for a quick clip...and most importantly, because the waistband and leg loops are a single piece instead of padding over webbing like most harnesses, weight is more evenly distributed over a wider area. You really will be amazed at how great this harness feels after an hour of hangdogging the proj...if you do that sort of thing!
This harness is pretty sweet! It has the same type of design as the new Arc Teryx harnesses in that the padding is very thin and lightweight. Unlike the Dead Bird harnesses, the BD Ozone, Chaos and Aura have padding as well as super lightweight design, instead of the sometimes uncomfortable no padding Arc Teryx harnesses. The gear loops are also very good and again i think they are a little better than most others out there. These are incredibly comfortable and user friendly. I just wish they made one with ice clipper slots!
