Less prep time regardless of what you like to climb.

No matter what type of rock you like to jump on, you'll get on faster with the Momentum Speed Adjust Harness from Black Diamond. A SpeedAdjust buckle on the waistbelt combined with the TrakFit leg adjustment system means less time spent fiddling with buckles and more time cruising up your favorite granite. With the harness' Dual Core OpenAir EVA foam waistband, your comfort is pretty much a given, not to mention the low-profile fit and bullhorn-shape make this harness great for wearing with a pack. Four pressure-molded gear loops and a 12 kN-rated haul loop ensure that you have plenty of spots to rack and carry your gear.

Here's what others have to say...

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

First of all, this is a relatively inexpensively harness. The harness is fairly light weight and the gear loops are big enough to carry a standard double rack. Not a huge fan of the speed adjust at first, but it's fine now that I'm used to it.

I found that the harness is uncomfortable for even semi hanging belays or belaying heavy people. Specifically, the waistband rubbed painfully on the top of my hip bones. None of my past harnesses have caused discomfort.

The harness is somewhat bulky. This is noticeable when stuffing it into a pack and when climbing/sitting in it.

This harness is fine for short cragging days and non extended use. Wouldn't reccomend for multipitch routes or long trips. I'll be buying a new harness in the near future.

Great Starting Harness

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times

I use this harness about 6 days a week about 3 hours each time at the indoor wall at my school for top rope and lead. I works great for both and is extremely comfortable and light weight. It also keeps me attached to the rope when I drop 20 feet from the top. This is a great harness.

How is the sizing?

Hi David,

The sizing is as follows (in inches)

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times

I have gone through 4 harnesses now and this is the first one I know I am going to buy again. It is comfortable right from when you first take it out of the package and defiantly was made to last. I was a little disappointed it didn't have a good place to actually attach my chalk bag like my last one but most harnesses don't these days. Overall very pleased.

Step up

  • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I started out with a Black Diamond Momentum AL Harness, I wish I'd skipped that and gone straight to this one.

Super comfy, easy to adjust, great price per quality ratio.

What more could you ask for?

  • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This harness is extremely lightweight, comfortable to hang in, and super easy to adjust. Overall, a great harness for the all-around climber!

Great harness, great price.

Got this during the recent site wide sale, which brought this down to $43. Used it the first day, love the speed adjust features, as sometimes I do share it with friends. Build quality seems to be quite nice as well. I've only used this inside the gym, but plan on taking this outside as well.

Runs small

  • Familiarity:I returned this product before using it

I'm 5'5" with a 30 inch waist with a normal build. I order this harness in a small and the leg fit was way too small. Had to return and order a medium. The company did send me a free UPS mailing slip.

Okay not a fan of the company got it. What do you think of the harness?
