It's usable on 95% of walls with 95% of all climbing gear in 95% of conditions. It's comfortable and adaptable as you climb from newbie to veteran (pun intended).

I got this as my first harness when I first got into climbing because of the reasonable price and decent reviews. It's comfortable, the construction is solid, and its held up great in constant use. I am a 30 waist and I got the small. It fit perfectly.
Awesome harness, Reasonably Priced

Probably the best value harness you can buy, very comfortable
Comfortable, rugged, and cheap!

I have been very impressed with the quality of this harness. I would have to say that this is the best climbing harness for the money. The covered gear loops are solid, the quick adjusting leg loops are invaluable, and the cost is affordable. Not to mention I have never been uncomfortable in this harness. The only problem I have with this harness is that the waste does not come equipped with a speed adjustment buckle. In fact, I find the buckle to be an extremely big pain in the butt. If you are just starting out climbing or are on a budget, then this is the harness to buy.

I've had this harness out over a dozen times and it's been great! Light weight, fast and pretty comfy. Any harness will pinch given the chance, but this doesn't bring any unneeded pain. The four gear loops are all in good range and plenty of room for a decent size rack. The belt doesn't feel as snug as I would sometimes hope, but I've never felt unsecure or anything. Good reliable harness I would recommend to anyone not wanting to pay a fortune.

Im 6'4 240lbs
I wear anything from a 36-40 inch waist.
What size should I go for?

XL would be best for you except if you'll be layering on top of a 40" waist pants for winter. In that case only, you would need the XXL.

I use this to hang for 4 hours or so each time I use it. I am a part time zipline guide this is by far the best one I have used in the past year.

I bought this harness after many years in Petzel . The Momentum is light, simple and the adjustable leg loops make it feel like a custom fit. I like the center loop for a chalk bag and outward flanged gear loops. I was cautioned that it doesn't have much padding for big wall climbs before I bought it. On my first weekend out I did a four pitch, Castleton Tower with two other climbing buddies, we spent a while on wall. Although I wasn't in a Lay-Z-Boy, padding was no concern. The photo shows me on the right with the harness.

I absolutely love this harness! I've used it everywhere in Europe from sport climbs to alpine. I'm a fairly skinny guy for my height 6'2", and the medium fits perfectly. I have enough room to adjust for layers as well. I've definitely abused this thing over the past year and a half and it still looks close to new. Even rubbing on the sharp rocks in Germany's southern Alps, it stood up, took the beating, and even kept me feeling perfectly safe during a sketchy fall!
I would recommend this to anyone who won't be in a hanging belay for more than 30 min or so, because it doesn't have the padding for that unless you're layered up.

I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend and he loves it. The fit is comfortable enough for him to hang in it for hours taking photos of his friends climbing. He likes the quick adjust leg loops and the ample amount of gear loops.

I could climb all day in this thing. The SA leg loops make adjustments super easy. I've hung out in this harness for over 30 minutes comfortably taking photos. I have a 32 inch waist and the medium fits great. I would definitely recommend this harness.

This harness fits great for me, it is comfortable for a good day of climbing. The speed adjust works great to tighten, but takes a little maneuvering to loosen it. All in all a good, solid harness that will last you years of climbing.
Love it

Misty Mountain's Turbo (maybe others) can be built with big leg loop on the smaller waist. The say to call for details. Here's the link where I saw it. http://mistymountain.com/p/5080-Turbo.htm

I have a 32 inch waist and originally order a size Large. It was much to big so I order the medium and it fit perfectly! Hope that helps!

Bought the Steel Lava harness for my husband and he is loving it. He's into canyoneering and has taken it rappelling several times already. It's extremely comfortable and light. Pretty true to color.

Not the most comfortable. But for the price, it is a good harness. The materials feel a bit cheaper than my old Momentum AL harness. It won't get rid of it, but I wouldn't necessarily buy it again.
Very Comfortable Harness

I am a beginner climber and this is my first harness, so I dont know much about anything about climbing yet. But this harness is really comfortable, and i have spent multiple hours in it without any problems. If you are a beginner climber, looking for a cheap comfortable harness to start out in. This is for you, I would recommend this to anyone novice or experienced, such a great harness.
Great harness, especially for the price.

This is a really nice harness, and when you consider the price it becomes a five-star best-buy item without a doubt. The comfort rivals any harness I've had; the support is fantastic in a reasonably light and packable unit. I particularly appreciate the ability to adjust leg loop dimensions on the fly at hanging belays. The gear loops are fantastic, and the leg loops drop easily despite the old-school hook design.
I only have two gripes. 1) The leg loops can't be completely removed at bivvies so that you can sleep with just the waistbelt/swami portion of the harness. For that reason I wouldn't recommend this harness if you were planning on a route with multiple bivvies. 2) The buckle is a bit difficult to loosen compared to similar designs from other manufacturers. For some this might be seen as a bonus, but I find it annoying.
