When avalanche danger is high, slap the Black Diamond Method Alpine Sole Block on your Method boots, and enjoy a day of un-earned turns in the resort. This interchangeable sole is compatible with all standard alpine bindings and saves wear and tear on your AT soles.

Bottom Line: Make your Method boots ready for anything.

I need a set of 2009 Method sole blocks and can't find them anywhere. Any idea before I move on to another kind of boots. This is a poor show for what I thought was a quality company!

I own a pair of Methods & bought the alpine sole here at BC ... but had to return it as I realized upon opening it was size small & I need the large (which apparently isn't currently available).

Per BD's website, the sizing is:
23.0-25.5 (Small)
26.0-31.5 (Large)

I wish BC had the sizing info on this page ... cost me $6 in shipping the sole blocks back.

These are a nice way to set your Methods up so you can ride alpine bindings on them. They have really good traction, but they seem to wear down alittle fast.

What type of sole do I need for bindings like Fritschi or Duke?

Yes, the AT sole will work in the duke's, but it might not release properly (resulting in a blown knee or something else). the Fritschi's are designed for either AT or DIN Soles. If you're actually going to do any touring or hike more than 30yards, get the fritschi freeride!!!!

they can handle any ISO or AT sole. you don't need ANY Dynafit sole. but any boot with a Dynafit will work with any AT binding.

The alpine sole will make the Methods work better with Fritschi or Dukes or Barons. The AT sole which ships with the Methods will work best with Dynafit, but it can also work on Dukes ... but the alpine sole is recommended.
