If you’re digging your tough, lightweight Black Diamond crampons but they’re a bit too small for your boots, extend your crampons with a pair of Long Center Bars. These center bars switch out quickly so you can fit them to your boots and head out on the ice.

Good for REALLY large feet!

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times

Like, really, really large. I am size 13 and there are 6 or 7 more notches on these bars. That's getting into clown shoe sizes!

I am wondering about trimming to fit and saving the 20 grams, but figure i'm not that big of a weenie.

Other than the astounding lenght, the center bar system in BD crampons is great. Easy to swap out and set up. The bars are not dedicatad to either foot (flip it over and a right suddenly becomes a left) making installation practically fool proof. Great for the absent minded Gear Guru.

Purchased these for my husbands Petzl classic 12 point crampons. He wears a size 13 boot and these expanded the crampon fit to the right size. Will be looking to get a new set of crampons soon, hopefully they work well with those.

Hello - I have a set of Grivel G-12 NewMatic crampons but they are too small (short) for my new size 48 SCARPA Freney boots. I am having a lot of trouble finding the Grivel 190mm Long Bars anywhere - will these fit or be adapted to fit my Grivels?

Great for Big Feet

These things work as described. I have size 14 boots and they are plenty long enough. They are super stiff, even more so than the standard center bars that came with my crampons. This isn't an issue with mountaineering boots or super stiff backpacking boots but if you are going to hike for long distances with these I would recommended getting the flexible center bars; your feet will thank you for it!
