LiveWire Quickdraw

The LiveWire Quickdraw is Black Diamond's burly beater for sport climbing, projecting, and hopefully redpointing your hardest routes. Feel free to leave this draw hanging on a bolt, and whip on it over and over until you reach sweet success. Both the Nitron carabiner's keylock nose and the LiveWire's HoodWire technology provide snag-free cleaning when it's time to find a new project. The durably thick Vari-width dogbone uses a StraitJacket to stabilize the LiveWire carabiner when you're clipping your rope.

Ideal Draw for Sport Projecting

This draw is total overkill for 90% of what I do, but it's awfully nice to have it hung on a crux bolt. As a gate-flutter-phobe, I exclusively use wiregates on the rope end. I find the Livewire to be among the easiest wiregates to clip due to the large gate opening, featured spine, deep bucket, and low spring resistance. It's, of course, easy to unclip, too. I'm not sure the rubber on the dogbone is necessary for grabbing, but it certainly doesn't hurt, and I like that it prevents fraying of the bar tacks (if you're liucky enough to have it oriented rubber-in. Downsides are obvious: this draw is relatively heavy and expensive. For me, there's no sense it hanging these on a warmup, bringing them trad climbing, or carrying them up an onsite attempt. Rather, I save these for sport projects. I sure hope BD doesn't discontinue the Livewire biner. This is hands-down the best rope-end biner on the market, and other brands have gone all-in on the dubious solid gate for this purpose.

Prevails during sustained abuse

A little heavy for long multiputch but perfect for pure sport routes.

smooth clipping

I feel spoiled with the ease of clipping these. I didn't know what I was missing till I got a set, and now I am reluctant to climb on my friends non LiveWire draws when it really matters. Princess problems!

Best Sport Climbing Draw Out There

My favorite Sport Climbing Draw hands down, easy clipping, durable, nice fat dog bone. Not much more you can ask.

Premium Sport Draw

The livelier is very easy not only to clip, but to clean, I have never had a wire gate biner that was so easy to unclip the rope too. The only drawback to this quickdraw is the weight, but that is negligible if you are simply hanging them on your projects.

Smooth

Smooth. Just smooth. Clips the same way a BMW door closes--like it should. Easy to clean with the smooth nose on the other 'biner too.
