    Ultralight protection for fast ascents.

The Women's Liquid Point Shell Jacket is Black Diamond's lightest and most packable jacket that uses Gore-Tex waterproof and breathable protection for alpinists, climbers, and backpackers. Gore-Tex Paclite keeps you cool and dry in snowstorms and rainy alpine days, and fully taped seams enhance waterproofing by preventing water from seeping through. Black Diamond equipped this ultralight shell with two-way zips under each arm for ventilation, and the adjustable hood accommodates climbing helmets without a problem.

    A softer Gore-Tex

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Small

This is a very nice jacket. The Gore-Tex material is softer than other Gore-Tex jackets that I own which are a bit more stiff but definitely durable. I've only used this jacket once but so far, I'm really enjoying it. It fits great and the hood is helmet compatible. The only slight issue is that if I were to use this jacket for skiing, I wish I had it in a Medium. It's slightly snug with a few layers underneath and on a powder day, I think I'll leave this jacket at home. It's not long enough to cover my rear end which I like on powder days. Other than that, the jacket is definitely waterproof and durable. This will definitely be my go-to jacket for snowshoeing and other hiking adventures.

I tried this one at a fair and had to get me one. I got mine in the mail and was so excited. I've worn it all throughout the rainy seasons we have had so far. "one day i was putting it on the coat hanger and my kid asked me why i liked that jacket so much?" i pulled him into the kitchen put my whole arm and elbow in the sink and told him to turn on the water. he looked at me scared and turned the sink on full blast , turned it off and watched the water just bead off i said "feel it" and my arm was completely dry not a spot of water on it at all. he was amazed.

i got a xl so i can layer. my size should have been a large. it does run true to fit.

    Happy with my purchase

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

This Jacket is a great shell for staying dry. And I love the big hood that gives you full coverage and the side vents come in handy to let out heat and prevent sweating. I use it on my daily bike commute to work in the pacific north west and it has kept me dry in the drizzle and heavy rains. I have had other rain jackets I have spent less on, that are water proof, and start to get permeated with water towards the end of my ride but so far this one stays true to its statement and is actually waterproof. It's definitely a little more pricey but has been worth it to be able to show up to work dry.
