Description
Tough and warm for repeated winter abuse.
The combination of the waterproof breathable Gore-Tex insert and the four-way stretch make this Black Diamond Legend Glove tough enough to handle hardcore days in the frontcountry. Heavier PrimaLoft One insulation on the back of the hand boosts warmth while lighter insulation at the palm retains dexterity. Leather palms and fingers provide a durable reinforcement for mountain professionals. The Legend Glove also includes molded EVA foam knuckles for extra protection when the tree run turns out to be a bit tighter than you expected.

Nice Gloves!

I bought this in spectrum blue. They look quite a bit like dirt bike gloves... but bigger. Quality on this gloves is really good, though their fit is kinda narrow around the wrist.
Definitely waterproof. The inside will never get wet, gut they do tend to slowly get wet on the outside and they take a bit of time to dry.
Overall good gloves.

If you use them for more than a day, they break in well and the dexterity is good (as good as an insulated glove is going to get). My fingers tend to get cold in these when temps hit or dip under 20 degrees. The leather is starting to show signs of wear after only a couple of weeks, but the overall integrity of the glove gives no reason to complain, sharp edges are going to cut up a glove regardless. The leather has good grip and I've had no problems holding onto poles or grabs. Only time they've gotten wet on the inside has been when snow entered through the cuff or because I had been taking them on and off. Even in PNW conditions the outer leather may become saturated but it won't make it through to my hands.
Sorry bra, not for me.

Pros: Waterproof, Great Construction, Fit- not bad, VERY Warm, Looks great and helps with getting the ladies (alright, maybe not the last one).
Cons: Zero dexterity, Blue is more like purple (I can live with it), VERY Warm, Wrist Gaskets kind of weird and was not a good wingman when picking up on the ladies.
I'm a Northwest skier. For me, I like to have a good grip on my poles without feeling like I have oversized Mikey gloves on. Although there were lots of great featues of the Legend glove, I did not feel they were a good bargain. It was hard to take them on and off; especially with the funky wrist gasket. The gloves were super stiff and made everything, including playing with buckles, very cumbersom. I really wanted to like these. For the money, there are better gloves out there.
Very pleased

I'm very pleased with my Legend gloves. Have worn them both skiing and plowing the driveway and they're both durable and warm. They're a bit bulky but so far that hasn't been an issue as they have good flexibility. They've given me excellent protection from the wind and cold.

just used them in Breckenridge for a week and yes they are cool, yes they are flexible, yes the leather is nice but my fingers were never warm and I do not spend time with my hands in the snow. So that was disappointing to me.
Pretty sick, wish they fit a was better

These gloves look mean and can put up with some serious abuse.
They are warm enough for most days, but lack the insulation for some of the colder days on the hill.
They've stood up to grabbing the edges of my skis and board really well so far and there really hasn't been any sign of wear and tear yet.
The fit was a little strange for me. My hands are small and muscular, and I typically wear a small in every glove, but I couldn't even fit my hand in these gloves in a small. The medium was only slightly better, but the thumb still wasn't long enough for me out of the box.
After some good use, they've stretched out and softened up a bit, so they've become more comfortable thankfully and I can grip my poles without any discomfort.
Excellent purchase if you're looking for a slick looking pair of under the cuff gloves

These gloves are really warm. I tend to get cold hands, but had no issues with these gloves. They're also really good for using under the cuff - they are low profile around the wrist. As another reviewer says "Spectrum Blue" is a purple-ish blue color, very similar to shown in the picture.
Spectrum Blue is actually PURPLE!!!

I ordered the Spectrum Blue, Large size for my father for his birthday. We were pretty bummed to see these are actually PURPLE. He decided to keep them anyways for shoveling snow and doing different things outside on his property in Heber, Utah.
He also told me when he is moving around the gloves are warm enough but when he is just sitting for awhile his finger tips get cold. The other issue is we had to remove two stitches in the wrist of this glove for him to be able to slide his hands in comfortably. He does not have huge palms or really wide hands, but on these gloves he had a really hard time getting his hands in even with the Velcro undone. The last complaint he had was the gloves had some looseness on the top area of the glove, just didn't fit well and seemed really bulky. :(
can't beat a black diamond glove

I have this knack for buying expensive gloves, and losing one - leaving myself S.O.L. - I'm really hoping that doesn't happen with this pair as they have been my best ones yet! I have the white which DOES dirty easily, but who cares. They are warm....I've spent hours outside in single digit temps and my hands have never been even close to cold.
I enjoy the pre-curled feel, the gloves aren't stiff and unforgiving at all. The stretchy bit of material makes the gloves easy to grab and pull on when you've already got one glove on. Zippers aren't a challenge with these on as the fingers are not too bulky.
Get the job done

Have used these for about 7 days now. Hands stay warm and dry. Will warn you though, if you use these while touring your hands may start to sweat. Might be smart to carry some light gloves for the skin up, and then pop these on for the transition and the ride down. Very warm glove though, had these on Mt. Washington in -50F wind chill, and didn't have a problem as long as I was moving around.
Great glove that performs as advertised

I bought these to replce the old style (less moto) Legend glove that I still wear on warmer days after they packed out. They've never gotten wet through to my hands (although Ive treated the leather) and they've kept my hands warm down to the teens. I have noticed that my Hestra's witht the heavy liners are warmer and I've used those as my fridgid weather glove when wind chill is below zero. The construction is bomber (my old legends are still going strong after 6+ years, although the insulation is packed out).

I wore these for 30 minutes in 30 F temps on a mountain bike ride and my fingers were freezing. I gave them one more shot snowblowing in 25 F weather and the results were the same. The fit is good but these are a sorry excuse for cold weather gloves. I definitely do not recommend these as there has to be much better gloves for this price!

I understand your point about circulation as I have CREST syndrome. One of the five symptoms of CREST is Raynauds. I have had other high end gloves that performed much better than these at far colder temperatures (-20 F) and those gloves cost less than these. After giving these gloves a try my review stands as is "Not worth the money".
Not for me

I really wanted to like these gloves; mostly leather construction, Gore-Tex, a nice roomy cuff, cool style. In the end they didn't fit the way I wanted and seemed too warm for most ski days. To be fair, the gloves are rated for -15F to +15F. Four stars to not bring the rating down because they do seem like very nice gloves.
very well built but not for coldest days

This glove is a great under the cuff piece, bomb proof, it has pads to help protecting on falls and very waterproof if you use a balm (I use the hestra balm). I have used this glove on spring wet days and melting snow and my hands were dry all the time, but be aware that this is not for very cold days, you better be looking at the guide lobster or hestra seth 3-fingers if you like under the cuff to be you glove for coldest days, every thing else up to 30F or a little below you can go with the BD legend.
Poor cold weather glove

The quality of the glove is good, it is horrid at cold weather protection. I wore these several times this past year at or below 0C in sleet. At 0-5C within 30-45 minutes my hands were soaked AND freezing. They are very comfortable and stylish, however they fail miserably at their main function of keeping my hands warm.
Very warm and Dry

I wore these gloves recently on a very cold wet snow day, I was very impressed how dry my hands stayed. I expected to have to do what Ive done on similar days in the past, which is, change gloves half way through the day. But I did not have to do that with these gloves. They are very warm. In fact, dont plan on wearing them in the spring, your hands will be smoking hot. The reason I give them 4/5 stars is for the fit. Ive gone through nearly a dozen gloves and Ive always worn the same size (L). I wish I would have ordered these gloves in medium.
Warm, stylish and rugged!

Great fit and good solid build. Has been very warm for me, almost overly so. However, I have only been ~15-20 F max.

Bought these gloves for a week of cat/heli skiing in the Cariboos ,British Columbia. Temps were as low as -15deg C and hands were warm and toasty all week. Dried easily over night which is great for multi day trip.
Found the gloves to fit similar to other Black Diamond gloves . These gloves are made for under the cuff of your shell and with them designed to come up nice and high on your wrist they work well staying tucked inside the sleeves of your coat.
