Meet the Jetstream—a glove that molds to the contours of the hand and allows skiers and climbers to use their fingers without restriction. The secret? Dexterous Polartec Windbloc material. Black Diamond has designed this glove for times when you need warmth but bulk must be left behind. The reinforced suede palm adds to the Jetstream Gloves's durability and allows for solid purchase on tools and ski poles. Elasticized wristbands ensure secure fit. It's a capable windproof glove great for any high-intensity activity like ski-touring or the occasional mixed pitch.
Bottom Line: When sensitivity is of the utmost importance, the Jetstream Glove won't hurt your feelings.
First of all love the gloves. I've been looking for something windproof for a while that didn't have all of the bulky Gor-Tex attached. I live in a really windy place and when I'm walking on campus these gloves are the ticket. Really easy on and off too. The only thing I don't like is that when I am getting all of the slop off of my car or bike they soak up all the water they can (like a camel in the desert). I acutally like them a lot more when it is super cold and no slush. I've already used them in sub-Zero temps this year and they are awesome. Get'em. Right now the price is too good to pass up.
I am starting into some ice climbing in a few weeks. My friend said get gloves with removeable liners with 2 liners so you can always have a dry pair. So I bought two pairs of these on Steep. Now I need the good water-proof glove to put them in. Recommendations?
These gloves are great. I have worn them in temps down to almost zero. If you were not going to be moving much, you probably would want to wear something a little more insulating at any temps under 30 degrees. I am usually pretty active when wearing them and they have been great in all conditions that I have worn them in. The windproofing is great. Dexterity is also pretty good with these on. I usually hate wearing gloves, but these seem to get worn more than any other gloves that I have ever had. Buy them, you will not be dissappointed.

These gloves are great. Got them on SAC so the price was obviously great and backcountry's service held up to its name as always. I normally wear the gloves for my 25 minute walk to work - If temperatures get down below freezing, you can feel the cold even though the gloves are still windproof. I used them snowboarding in temps around 25F when I left one of my snowboard gloves at home and they weren't all that warm going down the hill, but they're not really meant for that. Great gloves. I'd buy again, and if they hold up, which it seems they likely will, my next glove purchase may just be a shell and I'll use these as a liner.
These gloves are fantastic for use by themselves in 3+ season weather and for use as a liner in winter conditions. The WindPro fleece is excellent for keeping the chill off of your hands, although it is a bit bulky. The small seams, despite their multitude, help keep the bulk down. I chose the BD Jetstream over Mountain Hardwear's windpro fleece gloves because BD's verion (like their PowerStretch Fleece gloves) has a leather palm.
As for durability, I have used them pretty hard over the last year or so and they are just now starting to develop small abrasions in parts of the outer fabric near one or two of the fingertips. When my pair dies, I'll replace them with another pair of the same.
They will melt, so keep them away from hot stoves.
I use these all the time. The windproofing is astonishing, the palms are durable and grippy, and they are super warm in 30-40 degree weather. Add to that the fact that they're dexterous enough to light a lighter, tie your shoes, use a cell phone or even type (I had to try), and you won't go anywhere without them. Did I mention they're 25 bucks?
These gloves are great. I have worn them in temps down to almost zero. If you were not going to be moving much, you probably would want to wear something more...
