These things are toasters. I bought these as a gift for my friend and as she says she is an "easy freezer" It was about 5 degrees and a pow day and she took them off because she was warm.
Super warm and dry!

So far these mittens have exceeded my expectations! My old pair of ski mittens were alright, but after a snowy day on the mountain they would be pretty wet on the inside. I have worn these gloves twice now. Both times they were very warm and the inside stayed dry the whole day! They also come with some nikwax which I will definitely be treating them with soon to keep that leather waterproof and in good condition. If you plan on wearing liners with these mittens you may want to size up. I ordered a small and they fit great, but would probably size up to a medium if I wanted to wear liners. Overall I’m very glad that I made this purchase!

I grabbed these mitts for my girlfriend who actually rode with another pair of Black Diamond mitts for close to 4 years. We wanted to get her something that was both waterproof yet had plenty of warmth. This glove has the Goretex XCR which is a type of gore membrane that is aimed to be more breathable. Most of the gloves we were stumbling upon were close to 130 grams of synthetic insulation. We knew she would need something with a higher fill as she often times gets cold hands up at Alta. Primaloft is the best form of synthetic insulation out there which has proven to be true as she has yet to get cold in these gloves! Love the option of the Zippered heater-pack pocket in case things get really cold up top. The mitts look and feel high quality, as you would expect from a reputable brand like Black Diamond. We compared the Pow Gloves Stealth GTX mittens with these in store and decided that they didn't have enough insulation, and they were too short compared to the BD's. The Diamon Iris has a perfect size cuff that will keep snow out, and keep your ENTIRE hand warm. Very impressed with the Diamond Iris thus far.
