The Beal Ice Line Climbing Rope is an 8.1mm-thick double rope. No, that's not a typo.

At a weight of only 42g/m, the Beal Ice Line 8.1mm Climbing Rope is one of the lightest and thinnest double ropes on the planet. The Beal Ice Line is designed for ice and alpine climbers who want to shave every possible ounce off their gear without sacrificing the convenience that double ropes. Buy two of these ropes to be used in conjunction on wandering mountain pitches to reduce rope drag and provide redundancy. This Beal rope is also dry coated to keep it from absorbing water on ice pitches which would make it heavier and weaker.

Having a single pick, this rope runs smoothly. I love using this for an emergency back-up rope or ice climbing on as doubles. Stays dry, and I don't have much problem with it icing up.
