Would you like to cut your skin weight in half? You can do just that with Black Diamond Ascension GlideLite Nylon Kicker Skins. These half-length skins only cover the kick zone of your skis, providing excellent glide and plenty of traction. Attached with a nylon strap and world famous Gold Label glue, these skins also have a metal shim in the front to keep snow from migrating under your skin. Kicker skins are small enough that you can easily stick them in your jacket pocket between laps.

Bottom Line: Carry half as much, ski twice as much.

i've had for about a little over a year. they work nicely on gentle slopes. i like them because i can find a bowl, put my pack down, and make laps without a pack on (they fit in my coat pocket). but for longer tours or steep and variable snow they don't work very well.

I would like to buy the Black Diamond Kicker Skins for my Alpina

I would like to buy the Black Diamond Kicker Skins for my Alpina Lite Terrain XC skis. The dimmensions are 102-64-87. What width do you recommend? Thank you for your response.Susana NovembreXC

50 or 60 mm would be fine, you won't be able to tell the difference, and may have to trim the 60s a hair.

I bought these Ascension GlideLites for a friend, and he had no complaints, but if you are going to be pulling sleds in steep terrain or want to skin even the steepest slopes, spend the extra money for the full-length skins. (These are great for using on more than one pair of skis though since they do not have to be cut).

The glue is very sticky. The new mesh separator really helps to make pulling them apart easier. It’s too early to tell how the glue holds up. My ranking is based on my first impression which is positive.
