  • Adjustable elastic strap secures the lamp to your head while night hiking and the tilt-able, water-resistant housing provides reliable convenience while camping
  • Powered by two included AAA batteries

Literally Put it Through the Wringer

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

While moving my laundry from the washer to the drier I found my Gizmo headlamp in the washer basket nestled in with my soggy sweatshirts and jeans. Unlike the nearly brand new digital camera I found next to it, the headlamp still works. Solid.

Pleased so far

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The recurrence of the evil Daylight Saving Time made me realize the necessity of a headlamp for my morning jogs, at least for another month or so. I like that it is tilt-able for maximum aiming capabilities, and that the brightness is adjustable. While I was afraid of the weight due to AAA's instead of button batteries, it has not been too cumbersome. I was also nervous about having to constantly adjust and readjust placement on my head, but after some initial fiddling I haven't had any issues as long as I'm wearing the lamp over a hat of some sort.

My particular lamp is Dazzling Blue, and while I haven't had any early-morning honks from passers-by, I do feel quite dazzling, or at least as dazzling as one can feel plugging along in my minimalist shoes and three layers in the 27 degree darkness.

I'm holding back on a fifth star only because it's my first headlamp and I'm still early in my experiences with it. But I'm very pleased thus far, especially for the price.

Let there be light

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have had this headlamp for a couple years now and it still works very well. I dropped it in the water and it still works fine. The button can be a bit tricky sometimes but not bad.

I can't get this headlamp to turn off. I swear, it's not user error. It may be possessed. Anyone else have this problem? When I turn it on, it goes straight into strobe mode and I have to take the batteries out to turn it off. Halp!

Worked great when I first bought it, but soon would only provide a dim light. Replacing the batteries didn't help. Guess I got a dud.

Good not great.

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This little headlamp provided decent lighting during my camp trip and a hike where my friend and I lost day light and had to pull our headlamps out. I was happy with the light output, the weight and size of this headlamp compared to the Walmart Ozark Trail one that I was using.

Ideal Item for everyday life.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This product is an excellent buy and you get what you pay for. I'm a well seasoned traveler especially in the National Parks and will use this item on those trips as well as everyday life: I currently use it on walks with my Aussie and on outdoor or hands on DYI home projects; my wife uses it as the best night light book reader she has ever possessed and even my 4 year old daughter has used it for playing and night observations. There is obviously higher end lights needed for more elaborate trips; etc but for ordinary life and trips this products fits the bill.

Below Par

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This headlamp looks cool and is at a good price, but when I used it this summer for a canoe trip, the light was never very strong and also flickered sometimes. I changed the batteries a lot, but it didn't help much.

Would this be suitable for walking after dark? I live in a non-sidewalk, non-streetlight area and once winter arrives, would like to walk after dinner.

Hi Donita,
Yes this would work great for that. Gives off a good amount of light, and is listed at a great price.

small workhorse

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

small lamp that gives good but not great light. Like others have said its great for the price. I keep several around for group hiking/bonfire nights out. They work great and I'm not worried about losing one if I've had a few too many barley pops.

Solid Head Lamp

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bought two of these for a bike touring trip through the Pac NW. I haven't used them for anything technical, but they certainly did the trick around camp.
A great basic headlight, and you can't beat the price.

I just bought one of these lil lamps. I didn't find a red night vision feature. Not on the packaging or instruction manual. Am I missing something?

No, you didn't miss anything, the specs here are wrong. The Gizmo has no red mode. Call them for an exchange, and I'll bring it to their attention. Good catch.

Small and light

I kept this stashed away in my ski pack this season just in case. It's small and fairly light. It's as bright as I would expect from a small headlamp.

this is such a handy tool we keep one in our car & it has been used on many occasions! LED is the only way to go.

Good, affordable headlamp

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This is a good all around headlamp to have on deck for impromptu night time bouldering/hiking in the canyon, or for spelunking in your basement. Great product for the price.

Alright light for the price.

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift

Overall I am not very impressed with this lamp. It is one of the least expensive on BC and while I will use it for now, I will not be buying another. Its not very bright at all and the quality is lacking. You get what you pay for with this lamp.

Just is..

Nothing fancy, straightforward light. Good price for a good, simple light. It's super bright, too.

teeny tiny

this is a sweet little headlamp if your looking for something super easy to shove in your pack, car, purse whatever. Bright enough for the task you put it to as well
