That's frenzy in the frothing, maniacal sense. The Black Diamond Frenzy Backpack is perfect if you're the sort of person who starts to drool at the thought of an afternoon out in the pow. A versatile carry system lets you strap on skis or a snowboard, and back panel access lets you get at the goods anytime you need them. The Frenzy's 1700 cu in give you just the right amount of space for a fast and light day or afternoon out in the backcountry. Naturally, the frenzy is hydration compatible and its 420d silnylon construction can take a vicious beating. Now if you can live up to your Frenzy's toughness and versatility, you'll be in for a heck of day.

Bottom Line: Working on powder days makes us want to bite people too.

The best Backcountry packpack - period.

This backpack is simply awesome. It has been with me all winter and spring throughout British Columbia, the Sierras, Utah, and Colorado. It's very versatile. The multiple storage/carry configurations allow complete customization based on your load and wishes on tour day. I've never had a problem loading, unloading, or skiing with this pack; it's a dream come true.

Great Pack

Only good things to say about this pack. The hip-belt and sternum strap keeps the load balanced, and the shape lets you pack it to the limit and still be functional. The external shovel/probe flaps are great, securing them while also offering super-quick access in case of emergency. There's a ton of great features, too: emergency whistle attached to the sternum strap, hip-belt pockets, skin pockets, and reinforced sled loops. For a daypack, it's one of the best packs on the market, at a pretty decent price.
