With new Speed Buckles, the Black Diamond Focus Speed Harness goes on quick, keeps the tie-in point centered, and fits easily over several layers of clothes. As an added advantage, Speed Buckles never need to be doubled back, so you'll never forget this important step. By placing one buckle on each side of the waist-belt, Black Diamond also eliminated the sideways shift that harnesses experience when you start layering for cold weather. Four gear loops on the Focus Speed Harness hold a big trad or alpine rack, and a full-strength haul loop provides a point to clip your trail rope on long routes.

im just getting into rock climbing and i;m sticking to the gym
im just getting into rock climbing and i;m sticking to the gym for right now. this has 4 gear loops but they're not on the front. would this harness be good for just the gyms?

Gear loops generally aren't on the front of a harness--usually the sides and back. This harness will work fine for the gym, though if you never plan on using it for anything other than rock climbing, you could avoid the adjustable leg loops. If you ever plan on crossing over to ice or even using it for alpine or mountaineering purposes, the adjustable leg loops are an absolutely necessity.

What a great harness. My old Bod harness was great to learn with, but I had well and truly outgrown it, and the Focus Speed was a great step-up. The adjustable and padded legs make it more comfortable, 'Speed' buckles make it quicker to get in and out of, and the finish quality is as expected from a fine brand such as Black Diamond.
I bought one for myself, as well as one for my wife, since my wife found it more comfortable than a women’s harness such as the Primrose. Recommended!
