I got these gloves for a trip to the Lake Placid area of Upstate NY this last February. Temperatures were in the 10-35 range. I used them over three days of climbing and generally liked the warmth and dexterity of the gloves but was disappointed with the liners. While the liners add significant warmth they can't be used independently of the gloves. Their outside surface just isn't durable enough to take any kind of abrasion what so ever. A serious flaw in my opinion. Other then that they worked well and dried quickly.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

not a fan.

i got this thing on a prodeal for following/belaying, when warmth > dexterity. but the glove liner sucks (gets pulled back into the hand almost every time you take them off, and is hard to get re-sorted) and theyre bulkier than i'd expected.

ive been using them for belaying, and theyre OK, but i vastly prefer the Punisher glove for following (or leading in colder temps), and my Mercury mitts for belaying when it gets really cold.

I really like this glove for all-around use and especially on the colder days. I typically climb with too pair of gloves; one for the actually climbing and then sitting at a belay point. This glove works really well for climbing despite its "bulk" compared to a lot of gloves; I didn't get as much movement as I thought I'd get.

The glove is pretty dexterious and the padding is sufficient for the average waterfall. I love that it's gore-tex for those running or wet waterfalls. And the removable liners is a great newer feature for this glove.

I've also spent a good amount of time skiing in this glove.
