Cyborg Pro Crampon

Black Diamond's Cyborg Pro Crampon is Black Diamond's high-end climbing crampon that transitions from vertical ice routes to hard mixed routes with ease. The front points convert from dual-point to mono-point for a versatile performance, and the points are hooded and adjustable to customize the precision you need for any given line. Tenuous ice blobs and horizontal rock edges are no problem for a crampon this customizable. This Pro model is compatible with boots that have toe welts, and there's a Clip version available for boots without welts.

Okay Crampons, but there are better

Decent for pure ice climbing, but super heavy and the stainless steel dulls fast, and the design of the front points makes it slightly more difficult to engage the secondary points compared to the Petzl Lynx. Also can get painful to walk in.

Awesome crampon! Had been ice climbing with Serac's, got these set up with a single point and what a difference! They stick easily, and can step with confidence in a single kick. Game changer!

Great crampons

Great crampons. Got into ice climbing this past season and never had an issue with them. Very easy to use. They even came with two differt sized bails I found that one fits my mountaineering boots and one fits ski boots.

These crampons are super easy to put on and off, plus they fit snug and stable. Just be sure you dial in the tightness with the heel lever adjustment knob after flipping it up. The front points make a nice stable platform and penetrate blue ice easily. Solidly built product.

Very satisfied with the quality of the crampons, and I like the idea of being able to swap to a single front point.

Ouray ice fest tested them

Great product that did everything it was suppose to do! Make sure to tighten then down as the day goes on. Mine loosened up a couple times and came off at inopportune times, user error...

Would not recommend, when trusting your life, go to a better quality brand than BD.

Heel bail jumps out of metallic groove when clipping to boot. Appears that the plastic retaining the threaded rod has snapped internally, allowing rod to flex enough and let the bail to slip out. This is pretty much an unacceptable failure. I'm really happy it occurred while confirming pre-climb set up prior to heading out, but had it been one snap-in later, it could have been mid-route when I really needed them. A sloppy clip-in can easy result in the crampon falling off, putting me in a very precarious situation. I am extremely disappointed in this kind of failure. I tried reinforcing it with a zip-tie, in case to replicate what I possibly could have done in the field, but had the same results. I also checked the other crampon, and noticed that it TOO had a crack in the same location, abeit not severe enough to have this same issue, although I bet will fail with a few more cycles. For a company that boasts it's 'quality design' and 'pride in their crampons and products', this is beyond disappointing. I've had a set of Grivel crampons that I've been using for significantly longer and many more times [since 2010, and I just got the Cyborgs in the last few years] and they definitely have not failed me like this. OH, and they're heavy AF.

Solid Crampons

They feel great if you get the ideal configuration to your boots. After a season on Ice still don't feel like changing the front point that I've been using it.

Decent crampon

A good all around crampon that can be configured as a mono or dual front point crampon. I have been getting nearly daily ice and mixed climbing in this season and they dare holding up and functioning well.
