A pack with a purpose

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is a great pack for those day hikes, commuting to work, or going to class. I've used it for all and the comfort in phenomenal. The pack definitely functions best as a day hiker. It lacks in the organization category if used in a school setting but if you're looking for a great day pack look no further. Black diamond did it again with a durable, comfortable, and great looking pack.

love hate relationship

I love the overall design of the pack, swing arm suspension is great. you just don't notice you're wearing the pack, so comfortable. great organisation in the pack, two main vertical compartments and a couple of smaller internal pockets so you can easily find smaller objects, plus you have three external pockets, a big stretchy on the back for stowing a jacket.... BUT, in prolonged rain, the zippers arent water resistant and the water just filters into the pack, you need a pack liner to keep your gear dry or everything gets saturated.... if black diamond put water resistant zippers on it would be the perfect day pack... its probably made for mid western summers, where theres seldom any rain.... I'd avoid using this pack if you know you're going to get prolonged rain and you don't have a pack liner...

but otherwise it does still have a lot going for it... and its my go to day pack outside of really wet weather....

Lil" Jefe of Packs!

I love this thing. Use it as my school bag with labtop, book I am reading, jump rope for the gym, and a light jacket. Plenty of room!!! Thing fits perfect to the back, no movement on the trail on a day hike or scramble. Allows you to carry what you need for the work day, class, or in the backcountry!

Love the look of this pack, not to mention...

Love the look of this pack, not to mention the size; at 18 litres it seems just the right size for fastpacking and mountain rides. Just two questions: will a 3 litre platypus reservoir fit and can the pack be pulled tight to the body to prevent it from moving about?
