You might be wondering what you got yourself into when you wake up on the third morning of an eight-day trek with legs that feel like they've been through a meat grinder and knees that creak like a teeter totter. But don't forget that you had the foresight to bring your Black Diamond Alpine Ergo Trekking Pole along for the long haul, so you should be good once you pop a few vitamin I pills and settle into a good pace.
The Alpine Ergo Trekking Pole comes in a set of two, and are crafted from two lower carbon sections and aluminum upper sections. The combination keeps them stiff while in use but light enough that you'll hardly notice them when they're attached to your pack. Their three-section shaft breaks down fast for easy stowing, but it also allows them to be adjusted to just the right height via the bomber Dual FlickLock adjusters. Black Diamond also took care to give these poles a moisture-wicking cork grip with extended foam grip extension then put the handles on a 15-degree slant to give them an ergonomic feel that will be much appreciated on long, tough days.
