The Black Diamond Contact Anti-Balling System (ABS) reduces snow pilling underneath your Contact crampons, allowing easier travel across snow-covered ice and glaciers. These injection-molded plates attach quickly and easily to keep your 'poons from collecting massive snowballs on each of your feet. Not only does this make it easier to walk around, it makes travel in exposed areas much safer.
Bottom Line: Walk easily though the mountains with the Black Diamond Contact Anti-Balling System.

I first purchased grivel G-12s and later the ATB plates sold individually and pricy for plastic. I bought the BD neves on super sale but w/o ATB plates. For the price i thought the ATBs were also sold individually like grivel. Pleasently supprised to find that BDs logically sell them as a pair.
ATBs are esential for any glacial travel, these work as good as any with a great fit and easy instalation.

I learned my lesson the hard way, slogging down Rainier on a wet day with no Antibots. I fell way too many times. Next I tried the Duct Tape version, that fell off, same result. Then I bought these and havent fallen since, well not because of snow welling up under my crampons. Work wonders.
