Billabong gave the Women's Mimi Dress a kicky bright plaid and summery smocked empire bodice. A snap button-down front gives the dress the air of a vintage shirt, and the short-ish hem shows off your surf-toned legs.

Recommended: Order one size up. Super cute on!

Unlike the previous reviewer, I find that, this dress fits well on me. Also, because I've noticed that Billabong's clothing tends to fit on the smaller side, I ordered this dress in a small (even though I almost always wear a women's extra-small). The top is a little tight-fitting (but I had wanted the dress to fit that way because I only wear it strapless). For versatility, this dress does come with matching, detachable straps; and I LOVE that the bottom of this dress is fully lined on the inside (so there's no show-through :D). Lastly, judging from how this dress fit me and how the dress fit the previous reviewer, perhaps because the dress is fully lined on the bottom half and slightly snugger-fitting on top, this dress might not fit SUPER curvaceous women in a very flattering way.

Billabong Mimi Dress fits weird...

So the way it looks in the pic is that it flares out so to speak from the empire waist line to the didn't flare out. Granted I bought a small (5'5 & 125 lbs) and it was too snug, the medium wouldn't fix how the dress lies on my body because of how it doesn't flare.
The pockets don't help either. Since it's so fitted and not loose through the hips and but, the pockets stuck out like they were on a pair of slacks.
To sum it up, picture the fit looking exactly like you were wearing a mini skirt that hugs your butt and hips (like 80's style) with a shirt that's tight in the boobs and flares out in the stomach = not good lookin at all!
I'm sure though that less curvy girls could pull this off as the print and style of dress are still pretty hip and fashionable!
