The business plaid print of the Billabong Men's Camden Jacket may give off the impression that you're too serious to chill, but we know you only work to play. You require insulation because what you do to the park rats with your steeze is just plain cold. But, since you light the fuse of destruction as soon as you drop in, you need vents to release the heat, too.

  • Stowable face mask suits sled tours, lift rides, and bitterly cold days on the hill
  • Removable hood features a foam visor shields your goggles from snow
  • Mesh-lined underarm vents let you control your body temp as outside temps vary
  • Lycra spandex wrist gaiters and pow gaiter keep snow where it should be: outside
  • Full-length storm flap over the zipper eliminates water seepage through the zipper teeth

Billabong Camden Jacket

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

I bought this jacket used from Backcountry on It retails for $179.95. I would say no way at that price. Let's start with the bad or suspect issues: The material is very soft which is nice but I would suspect that it might have durability issues. I have not used the jacket yet for snowboarding so I can only speak in terms of personal observation. The stitching is also quite poor quality and looks like it might fray easily and possibly unravel. Also if you like wrist gaiters, it does not have any.

Now for what I like. I got this jacket for a steal. It's pretty light weight as far as insulated ski/snowboard jackets go. The pictures that Backcountry shows of the blue jacket are spot on, what you see is what you get. The jacket does have a waist gaiter with jacket to pants interface...sweet! The jacket also has loops in the sleeves so you can leash your mitts or gloves to the sleeves. The jacket has plenty of pockets. The pit zips look nice and functionally lined with mesh. There is a media pocket although it is not padded. There is a cutout to pass your ear buds through the media pocket but no additional loop to pass you ear buds through. The jacket is rated at 8k waterproof and 8k grams of breathability. I think this jacket will be plenty warm if you wear a nice mid weight insulating layer underneath otherwise, it's probably more of a jacket for 20 degrees and up. This obviously will vary depending on your tolerance for cold.

For what I paid I would give this jacket a 5 star rating but in reality without having tested it on the slopes my initial impressions say 4 stars for features but only 3 stars for quality. Only time will tell, hope this review helps!

Edit* So I have used this jacket twice walking the dogs and the stitching unravelled on a piece of velcro that keeps the storm flap shut. Oh I would be so mad if I had paid full price :-(

Get it on sale

It is a shell, does not provide much insulation. Wear an extra layer when wearing it on the hill. Provides adequate water resistance. Being light weight and easy to move in is probably its best feature. This should not be your only snow jacket, but its cool for spring days.

Not As Described

So that removable hood? Nope. Lycra spandex wrist gaiters? Not a chance. Oh, and that stowable facemask doesn't exist either. Was very disappointed that the product wasn't close to described and now I have to pay to return it.

Great Deal

Love this jacket. Really fresh plaid look to it and it is insulated. The price on this jacket is great for what you get, 8k, critically taped and fully featured making this jacket a great deal.
