A perfect place for the family reunion or the post-ride union of beers. The Big Agnes Three Forks Shelter's gargantuan dimensions easily accommodate your friends, family, co-workers and their immediate families, and your entire graduating class from high school (if you keep everyone moving through in a line). One included removable wall can be put up on any of the four sides to block prevailing wind or overwhelming sun, and the ripstop fly with all seams taped can be put into place for complete weather protection, although most of your graduating class will probably have to stand outside.

  • Polyester fabric body for weather protection
  • Lightweight aluminum pole system for easy transportation
  • Two large entry ports for easy in-and-out

Shade anywhere

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times

We have now used our Three Forks Shelter about 8 or 9 times and each time I set it up I am impressed. Whether it at the parade, splash pad, campground, or just in the backyard, we have loved using this. The high profile feels very open, but does catch the wind a bit. Nothing that staking the corners and using the guylines can't handle though. Set-up is doable with one person, but because of the length of the poles, having two makes it a breeze. Also, having the adjustable/removable side wall makes adapting the shade easy as the sun/wind/rain changes position. We purchased an extra side wall to give us a bit more protection if we need it. Overall, this has been a great purchase for us and we rarely leave home without it in the car.

Shade anywhere

Not Too Bad

First day out on the beach and the second time I assembled the shelter, and I'd say I'm happy with it. The onshore winds are blowing at 10-12 knots and it definitely wants to fly. Fortunately four sandbags on the windward side, and one stake in the back corner are holding it in place quite well. I attempted to put the side shelter in, but it was too much of a sail without further reinforcement. Though the wall did make the breeze circulate around the shelter and it was quite comfortable underneath while I was holding it in place. Overall the shelter is bigger than I thought it was, but would work great for groups bigger than just two people. It's not the quickest to set up, but I sort of enjoy the nerdy side of making it work in the conditions of the day. Our dog will appreciate the shade for sure regardless of how much work it takes to put it up. I'd buy it again.

This shelter mentions a side wall and a rain fly. Does it come with both?

Yes. The side wall is the red piece in the photo, and the fly isn't pictured.
