Use one of the Big Agnes Slide Mountain SL2 Super Light Tent’s two vestibules to make shade during the day (just set it up with your trekking poles), and store your gear in both vestibules at night. If you can’t sleep due to the wind and a loose tent flap, simply use the two Boa lacing reels to tighten the fly from inside the tent. The mesh body alleviates stuffiness and four mesh pockets provide storage for your headlamp, cards, and glasses. *Includes 12 aluminum J stakes.

Bottom Line: Two people, two vestibules.

The foot print for the Slide Mountain 2 is nearly impossible

The foot print for the Slide Mountain 2 is nearly impossible to find. Will the foot print from the Gore Pass 2 Tent work with this tent?

I have a Slide Mountain SL3 - the big brother of the SL2. I think that these tents are well made, technical, and more robust than the current crop of lightweight tents out on the trail. I had a Copper Spur UL3 and returned it because of the super slick coating on the floor of the tent and for how thin the material was. Yeah I know the Copper Spur is an ultra lightweight tent, but I think too many compromises are being made for weight savings. I am pretty rough on my gear and I feel more comfortable with the Slide Mountain 2 or 3.

These slide mountain tents are a little heavier - a few ounces, but in my opinion the extra durability and the fact that I don't slide across the floor is worth the weight. I have a neoair sleeping pad and if I was on the slightest slope, I would end up piled against the wall of the tent continuously through the night in the CS UL3.

Also I noticed that rain seemed to more easliy penetrate the fabric with the Copper Spur. It didn't leak, but it just seeped through easier. And finally the fabric stretches a LOT with the Copper Spur.

Too bad these tents have been discontinued. BTW, it takes a little longer to set the tent up because of the BOA laces - but I think they are pretty neat and useful. The vestibules, doors, and internal pockets are great also. Everyone has their own favorite equipment, but I think these strike a great balance between usability, durability, and lightweight.

It does have the 2 main poles plus the 2 additional. Backcountry does on occasion get stats wrong. I couldn't really find a lot of stats on the weight of it. The footprint is 7.5 oz. The trail weight (poles, fly, tent body) is 5lb 1oz. The seams are taped with a waterproof, polyurethane tape. Hope that helps you.
