For car camping only.

Comfortable but only for car camping or rafting. This is way too big and heavy for backpacking and the air pad insert seems a little flimsy to use on it's own.

Responded on

The warmth of a sleeping pad is indicated by its R-value. R-value measures a material's resistance (R) to heat loss. Higher numbers indicate greater warmth.

best sleep I ever had

I just got this yesterday and used it same night in the Manistee Forest, Michigan. I camped close to the car and used this with my solitair eurika tent. Wow! was I comfortable. Best night of sleep I ever had on the ground. Kind of large, but not too heavy. Not for the ultra light trips, but I will use this set-up whenever possible.

So comfortable

I bought this specifically to try on a 5 day/4 night river rafting trip. I wanted something comfortable, but needed something that wouldn't take up too much room. This was perfect. It is so comfortable. It comes with the sleeping pad and the memory foam on top of that. The only problems with it are that the sleeping pad doesn't inflate on its own. I had to blow it up myself which led me to be quite light-headed. The plus side of having to blow it up is that it is really easy to roll up. Unlike inflatable pads, I don't have to roll this up twice just to get all the air out. The other problem is that since I'm using this for car camping, I take a full size pillow. I bought the regular size pad and I barely fit on it with my pillow. I'm 5'4", so I would suggest buying the long if you are any taller than that or use a smaller pillow. So now I take this on all my car camping and river trips and I sleep so comfortable. Much more so than when I was using my other pad.
