    Great. Love it!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I was looking to find something lightweight, as an alternative to my REI camping tent that was 4-5 lb (that I have returned back to REI as it was too heavy for me). I have asked professional backpackers and hikers around me and they have suggested to buy the Big Agnes one. So:

Very lightweight (slightly more than two pounds).
As you open the packed bag the first time, the tent looks very durable and credible.
It is very long. I am 6 2' and I still have plenty of space for my backpack in the front of the tent.
Wide front of the tent that allows to put your belongings to either left or right of your head.
Small mesh window in the rear and hybrid mesh/lining door guarantees having good ventilation.
Hybrid door and no mesh body offers protection against mild cold weathers in the winter.
Super easy assembly that requires 15 seconds to assemble the body.
The shape of the tent protects you from having hard time cleaning it. Just turn it 90 degrees and shake. That's all.

In my opinion, the model could have been much better if there was an additional set of poles in the rear part of the tent. Now, you need to use two spikes to flatten the rear part of the tent.

Suggestion. Buy the tent footprint as you really do not want to mess up with the floor of $340 tent.

    Gigantic, light weight tent

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bought this tent to use on a 7-day hike on the West Coast Trail. I'm 6'3", and I was having a really tough time finding 1-person, double-wall, lightweight tent. This is really the only tent I found that I was really happy with. There are a number of UL tents/tarps from various companies that I might fit in, but they are hard to try in person. All that said, you will be amazed at how large this tent is once it's fully staked; I think it could fit two small people.

I did notice that most nights, the fly will touch the inner netting at the foot of the tent, but stayed separate everywhere else. Tent is relatively easy to pitch (I was pitching it solo, and didn't have any problems). It packs up well, and is relatively small. Vestibule was large enough for my pack + boots, and I could still get in/out. Speaking of which, getting in and out is fine; because there's so much space you can go in head first and swing your legs under you to the bottom. When unzipping the vestibule, there is a piece of Velcro that prevents the door (wet due to condensation) from falling on to you.

I was worried about not having much mesh like most other lightweight tents these days, but the nylon body is great. The dual-layer door has a mesh layer, which you can use as a window. It was great, and I generally left it open to increase air-flow.

    Gigantic, light weight tent

What is the difference between Packaged Weight, Trail Weight and Fast Pitch Weight (Fast Fly Weight as Big Agnes calls it).

Also what does the footprint weigh?

Here is how Big Agnes defines the different weights for their tents:

    Packed weight:

This is the heaviest you can expect your tent to weigh, straight out of the box or from the store. This weight refers to all packaging, hang tags, as well as the stuff sacks, fly, body, stakes, poles, and guy lines.

    Trail weight:

This is the lightest you can expect your tent to weigh, stripped of everything but the essentials. This number reflects the weight of just the fly (no guy lines), body, and poles.

    Fast-fly weight:

This is the weight of your fly, footprint and poleset only.

    Slater UL1+ info:

    Packed Weight - 2lbs 10 oz (42 oz) or 1190grams

    Trail Weight - 2lb 4 oz (36 oz) or 1020grams

    Fast Fly Weight - 1lb 10 oz (26oz) or 737grams

    Footprint Weight - 4.5 oz or 128grams
