Designed to comfortably accommodate two peeps, this three-season, mummy-shaped bag features 700-fill water-repellent DownTek insulation for exceptional warmth in cold early-spring or late-fall temperatures. Pretty Happy

    • Familiarity:I've used it several times

I have used this three times so far; two backpacks and one glacier. On the glacier we used two full size foam pads and that worked great, no gap in between them. For the two backpacks we both used the tapered 3/4 Thermarest which worked pretty well. There was a gap between the pads. We typically ended up sleeping with our torso on our own pads and our legs on one pad or the other. The sleeping pads fit inside of a sleeve underneath that keeps them in place.

On all trips I felt the warmth was just fine. The glacier trip it got down to 20 degrees and we had no issue. I personally get warm so the dual zippers worked great for the both of us. The zippers are awesome they never got snagged and always worked.

This bag comes with these things that fit around your neck to keep the warmth inside of the bag. If you want to cuddle these sometimes get awkward and weird. If you sleep apart they are okay but still a little weird. I do not have an opinion yet if I like these or not.

The bag comes with two built in stuff sacks you can stuff your gear in for pillows. Great idea but not really functional for me. They are tethered to the sleeping bag and you cannot move them when you move around. I just go back to using the separate stuff sack for my pillow.

I am 5'6 and she is 5'5 and we had ample room inside of the bag circumference wise and length wise. There is enough room we were able to store our clothes inside the bag at the foot for our glacier trip.

This double 15 degree bag weighs as much as many single 15 degree bags so this shaves off quite a but of weight between the both of us.. A lot of the weight is saved because there is no fill under the bag so you must use a sleeping pad with this bag. We always use a pad anyway so no issue there. The thought behind the no full under the bag is it will get mashed down anyway with your body weight and provide minimal insulation so why carry the weight.

I am very happy with the bag and glad I purchased it even at the price. The verdict is still out about those neck things but if I had to list a con it would be those.

What pad sizes work with this sleeping bag?

Pad sizes that work with each sleeping bag size:

Regular (Sleeping Bag - Users Up to 6'2''):

Two Sleeping Pads that are 20"x72" or 51cm x 183cm

Can anyone comment on the size of this...

Can anyone comment on the size of this bag? I'm 6'1", 190 lbs and my wife is 5'10", 140 lbs. I'm trying to determine if this bag would work or if we need to go with a King Solomon.

    Best Answer

    Hey Lynn Larson,

The Big Agnes Saddle Mountain fits a user with a max height of 72 inches, so 6 feet tall. The King Solomon will accommodate a user up to 74 inches tall, so 6'2". I would go with the King Solomon to ensure comfort of the taller user.
