No more fumbling with a headlamp.

There's nothing worse than rummaging around for gear in the dark, but with the Big Agnes Rattlesnake SL1 Person MtnGLO Tent, you'll know exactly where your gear is. An LED light strand integrated into the canopy provides a nice ambient light that is great when you're rigging your pack for an early morning summit bid or just enjoying a late night read. This single person option in the Rattlesnake line has a trail weight of just three pounds, so it won't weigh your pack down.

The tent is comprised of a polyester ripstop fly and floor with fully taped seams and a PU coating. A polyester mesh canopy keeps the bugs out on those clear and buggy nights, while the tent's unique hub pole design maximizes room inside the tent, and it makes the walls steeper, so the tent will shed rain more efficiently. Inside the tent are three mesh pockets and two media pockets. When packing ultralight, you can shave even more weight from the tent by rolling with just a foot print (sold separate) and the canopy.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have the 3 person tent, which I use for two people. The Copper Spur is lighter, but sitting up comfortably is more important to me, so I bear the extra pound of weight. I definitely love the head room that you get with this.

The lights are awesome. They have look like moon light, so it feels very natural. Make sure disconnect and turn them off, when not in use. It will eat up your batteries!!

The tiered side gear stashes are so cool. There are two set of single side stashes, and two sets of two tiered side stashes. There's a hole for your cables, if you want to use it for your phone, or for watching a movie off your device, if that's your thing.

Everything else has been good. The 360 mesh is awesome for the views. The vestibules have plenty of room for your gear. There isn't a ton of extra room inside the tent, especially if you put 3 people or 2 and a large dog. But, there is some room, especially if you just have two people.

This is very easy to set up, and the poles and mesh have been strong, so far. Another solid backpacking tent from Big Agnes!
