Description

Roomy protection.

The Lynx Pass 2-Person 3-Season Tent provides a camping duo plenty of floor space in a lightweight design. This tent sets up easily, and an extra-large oval door makes getting in and out less of an acrobatic challenge.

  • Polyurethane-coated floor and fly help rain bead off instead of soaking you and your gear inside
  • Floor and fly seams are taped without using solvents (PVC or VOC) for a cleaner environment
  • Covered vestibule protects your gear and provides extra shade when staked with trekking poles
  • Pole system features DAC aluminum poles, connectors, and clips that are easy to assemble day or night, rain or shine
  • All Big Agnes tents feature poles made with DAC's Green Anodizing process, which eliminates the chemical polishing stage, reduces the need for hazardous chemicals, and recycles water throughout the rinsing process
  • Interior mesh pockets organize odds and ends and stow tent body doors
  • Fast Fly pitching option lets you carry just the poles, fly, and footprint (footprint sold separately)
  • Gear loft (sold separately) provides extra storage space

Have Used This Tent For Years!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have used this tent for about 5 years now & I couldn't be happier!! It has held up as a 4 season tent with not one issue! It finally after 5 years is showing signs of wear. What a great tent!

Also, Just so everyone knows. The fabric tends to get a little brittle in extremely cold. Cold temps & a lot of wind tore this thing up!

Perfect for the desert

This is a super affordable tent packed with a whole lot of awesome.
Very efficient use of space, as there aren't sharp angles or weird corners, and it's comfortable for both people inside to sit up.
Setting up the tent takes a minute or less since there are only 2 poles to assemble.
There's a lot less mesh on this tent than on a bunch of other models. This adds to the weight a little bit, but it makes it a lot nicer in the desert, where it can get quite windy so not quite as much dust and wind get through. You can also get dressed inside the tent without the rain fly on too, and no one will be able to sneak a peek. I pretty much just use the rainfly when I know it's going to storm, and once you do put it up, you'll find plenty of space in the vestibule for cooking and storage as well as enough ventilation to manage the moisture.

It's not the lightest or smallest on the trail, but if you're looking to get out into the backcountry for the weekend or camp in Joe's Valley for a week of climbing, this is the perfect tent

Haven't used yet

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I will say that I haven't used it out yet because it is still to cold and I am a fair weather camper but I have set it up to see how difficult it might be and its really really simple. I know that I am excited to use it and get out in the wilderness...above 50 though!

Don't use it in the summer!

Good tent if you are doing mostly Spring and Fall camping. Do not bring this out for a summer outing! The lack of screens and the placement of them on the ceiling allows for minimal ventilation. I've slept with the rain fly open, the door to the tent open, and even with the rain fly completely off to beat the heat. I have even slept outside in the summer instead of sleeping in that hotbox. When you buy this tent, buy a battery powered fan as well.

Outstanding protection

Purchased to accomodate my girlfriend's need for more than my tarp setup. After several trips out I continue to enjoy this tent more and more. Ease of setup, great ventilation, full weather protection all in a package that's easy to justify packing. The vestibule is amazing. I simply cannot say enough about it. A pair of packs and boots fit with room to enter and exit or foul weather cooking space. The fly has 4 vents that can be propped open directing airflow and virtuly eleminating any condensation even on nights we saw ground covering snow fall. Only lasp in convience is the low enterance height.
At just over 5 lbs fully loaded it is not the lightest tent but features versus price it is hard to beat. Plus when weight is a true concern the addition of the footprint allows for a fast fly setup slashing 2 pounds and pushing possible occupancy to 3 people.
All in all great tent at a price you can justify. You won't regret

A great 2-seater

My wife and I upgraded to this from our run-of-the-mill Wal-Mart purchased "2 person" tent. We haven't actually field tested it yet, aside from spending a night in the front yard. We've gotten to the point where the two of us can set it up, with the rain fly, in under a minute. It's a really smart and simple design, surprisingly roomy inside, and has great ventilation. The fairly rectangular layout gives you a great view of the stars. Curious to see how it handles condensation with the rain fly on. We'll be taking this with us to Italy this May, I'll update when we get back.

Cool Tent!

I like Big Agnes gear and I liked the look and price of this tent. I bought the tent and so far I have enjoyed it. It is real easy to set up, I like the vents in the rain fly, and its light enough for my uses. I wish the rain fly came down closer to the ground (I need to get a footprint). Also, the fly sits a little too tight on the tent body and does create some condensation on that part but I can loosen the fly a bit and that should help. There are some good deals out there and if you come across one this is a good buy. I'll give it 5 stars because it is such a good deal and the tent does perform well.
