Camp nicely

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I got this for car camping trips for myself and my wife. We used to sleep in my ultralight Big Agnes Fly Creek 2 person tent so the huge increase in space is really great. I've used this once and it was windy and wet and we stayed dry inside. The tent did a good job of not flapping around in the wind.

My only complaints are that the vestibule could be bigger for a 3 person tent, the stuff sack should probably be larger for a car camping tent because weight is not really an issue and I hate having to get perfect folds to get it comfortably back in the bag.

nice tent at a good price

I have the lone spring 2. I just used it for the first time in Moab for an 8 day WFR course. We faced all sorts of desert weather, extreme heat, cool nights, and some pretty intense wind/sand storms. The storm fly did a great job keeping sand and dust out during the wind storms, while also keeping the inside of the tent cool for sleeping. Theres also enough room for one person and all their stuff, and a tight fit for two people with their packs and boots outside. On nights the wether was calmer, tying the vestibule back provided great ventilation. It also stood up to the wind well, the stakes kept it in the ground, and the poles are still in good shape. The lone spring is good quality/value for a tent. I'd recommend it to people on a budget
