    Comfort fit for a king—and a queen.

The Big Agnes King Solomon Down Sleeping Bag is a double wide bag for you and that cute camper you want to cuddle with. Big Agnes' DownTek treats the lofty down insulation with water-resistance to retain warmth in moist conditions. Unlike most double wide bags, the King Solomon features two rectangular shaped bags to ensure personal comfort when cuddle-time ends and sleep-time begins.

Big Agnes also integrated its classic integrated pad sleeve design so you two don't fall off your pads in the middle of the night. Zippers on both sides add convenience when one of you has to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. Big Agnes also added draft tubes at the collars, flaps, and down the zippers. There are built-in pillow pockets, loops for sleeping bag liners, and two sacks for stuffing and storing.

Boom SHAKKALAKKA a bag built for two!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I was skeptical about the lack of down on the bottom of the bag but this has not been an issue so far . . . will need to see if this changes as the temps drop.

As mentioned in other reviews the "built ins" are awesome - sleeping pad sleeves, pillow pouches and bibs. Well done Big Agnes.

Marketers should consider changing the name from King Solomon to something more descriptive . . . Boom SHAKKLAKAKA, Sweet Bangin Action Sack . . . Etc.

    Another GREAT Big Agnes product!

I recently bought the King Soloman bag for a recent hike on the A.T. with my wife and I couldn't be happier. Coupled with our Q-Core SL sleeping pads it made for a comfy nights sleep even as the temp dipped down into the mid 20's. This is my first bag that uses the sleeve system and it is probably the single best invention EVER! Why every sleeping bag doesn't have this feature is beyond me. The bag is little on the heavy side but the extra room is definitely worth it!

    Another GREAT Big Agnes product!

    Bigger and Awesomer than expected!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

My boyfriend and I have had our eye on this thing for a looong time. We finally saved up our pennies and got it. Boy, are we stoked off of it.

We just took it for a 3 day backpacking trip to Big Sur. I carried this bag, he had the tent and we split up everything else. Perfect trade off! It actually packed down into my medium Sea To Summit compression sack I use for my single sleeping bag.

Roomy For Two Not So Compact Hikers
We (who are not tiny people) actually thought it could get away with being smaller. I'm 5'10 @ 130 and he's 6'3 @ 205. We were able to spoon and then "go to our corners" to sleep without feeling confined at all.

    Smart Little Additions
They have thought to add these head bib things which are just wonderful! They take a little to figure out, but they are great once you do. They keep the cold air from coming in. Also, the built in pillow pockets. My god, just brilliant! Stuffed my down puffy into that thing and viola- a comfortable pillow! In fact, it was so comfortable, my boyfriend ditched his fancy backpacking pillow and used my method.

Like Two Twin Beds Smashed Together
The separate compartments for your sleeping pad, you guessed it, are fantastic as well. Even when we crawled over to each others "side of the bed" couldn't really feel the gap between the two pads. The key thing, having this kept the sleeping bag in place, so even the most notorious blanket hog is powerless!

My Curse Of Being A Warm Weather Creature
My only complaint, I feel calling this a 15 degree bag is a stretch. Other than that, this thing is next level for sure. Game changer if you're car camping or backpacking with your better half.

If you love camping, but hate that you can't cuddle your lover in the backcountry, GET THIS BAG! No regrets!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Blown away by this sleeping bag. If my lady is joining me on a backpacking trip or any trip for that matter I will not leave the house without this bag. It just makes sense.

The first feature that put me into heaven was the pillow sleeve that I stuffed my down jacket into and instantly went to dreaming. The next feature is one that I can not imagine sleeping in any sleeping bag that does not have it - sleeping pad sleeve. Big Agnes has revolutionized the sleeping bag with this idea and applying it to the double bags is just genius. No more rolling off the sleeping pad. I can not emphasize enough how awesome the pad sleeve is and how much sense it makes. Some people are hesitant just because the bags do not have insulation underneath but I assure you this is not an issue. The pad is your insulation and the added insulation that is put in the other parts of the bag will keep you oh so warm. The bag is the perfect balance of spacious yet cozy to keep you warm and comfy.

This is a car camping setup that will fit into a backpack! I was able to get the bag compressed with straps and fit it in the sleeping bag compartment of a Deuter pack. This is a huge factor when packing. The fact that 2 people can go on a backpacking trip with one sleeping bag that is lighter than most 2 bag setups and fit it in one pack is awesome. One person carries the sleeping bag and the other carries the tent. Easy peezy.

Give me a shout if you are looking for a double sleeping bag.

Big Lovin' With (and In) Big Agnes

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This bag is amazing! I was really skeptical of the fact that there is no stuffing on the bottom half of the bag at first. However, this has never been a problem as there are two pockets to slide your sleeping pads in. This keeps you warm, lightens the bag weight, and helps prevent slipping around while two bodies are sleeping in it. The other design features are great too. We really appreciate the built-in bibs that can be used to keep heat in and the sewn-in pillow cases that can turn a coat into a comfortable feathered pillow. With a compression bag, we are able to take the King Solomon along for backpacking trips. I recommend this double sleeping bag to anyone looking to keep it hot out in the woods!

If you are backpacking with a partner and suffer from separation anxiety, or just want to stay close, this bag is the perfect choice. Imagine spending a day experiencing a perfect wilderness hike with your favorite someone, sharing a gourmet backcountry meal, watching the stars fill the sky, and then having to sleep in separate "beds". No thanks!! This bag has zippers that go the length of the bag on both sides to easily adjust to individual comfort and ventilation. They jam a bit, but I think all bag zippers do. The zippers rotate so they can be used from inside or outside the bag. Nice feature. The pillow sacks are a great addition and are very comfortable. We just stuffed them with our next days hiking cloths. The bags can be sealed at the top and have independent collars for cold nights. We are from New Orleans so a 40 degree night is life-threatening. This bag kept us cozy and warm at 45. Not sure if I would trust it below freezing. The best feature was the sleeping pad inserts. We had two Therm-a -Rest Neoair Camper Regular (20X72) pads. I was anticipating a struggle inserting the inflated pads but the sleeves were super-smooth and the pads went in with very little effort. There are even velcro seals at the top of each sleeve to keep the pads positioned. There is a very slight gap between the pads, but you never feel the pads separating during the night, expanding the gap. So gap is really not an issue. We were perfectly comfortable throughout the night in every separate or cuddle position. The bag is surprisingly light, compresses to about 10X8, saving tons of pack room when compared to carrying two bags. We researched 2-person backpacking sleeping bags and the Big-Agnes seemed to have the best features and we were not disappointed. There was a bit of sticker-shock with this purchase but we got in on one of Backcountry's 20% off deals. We really really like this bag and will never be in separate bags when camping in the backcountry. Highly recommended for backpacking partners.

    Big Agnes never fails

I've used the dream island bag as well and this one is equally as warm but more compact and easier to store. Less roomy than the dream island but not a bad thing since you're deciding to share a bag with someone anyway!

How small does this bag compress? I need a double bag for my husband and I to backpack with.

    Hey MrsG44-0,

The King Solomon Sleeping Bag compresses down to 11 x 11 inches and it would be a great choice as a backpacking bag for two. Feel free to contact me directly with any more questions about sleeping bags or if you are interested in setting up an order.
