There comes a time in every person's life when they need to cut ties with modernity and get in touch with their wilder self. When you feel the call of the wild, throw your hiking boots on, load up your backpack, and keep your Big Agnes Gunn Creek 30 Degree Synthetic Sleeping Bag close at hand, because there's really no telling where you'll be making camp each night.
The Gunn Creek's 100% recycled Heatstream insulation will keep you nice and toasty whether you're camped outside of Chaco Canyon in the spring or posted up in somewhere high in the Tetons on warm summer nights. Big Agnes built this bag with a Free Range hood, which lets your head move around even when the bag is zipped up all the way, and it added its vaulted foot box so your feet will have some extra room to wiggle around at night. Another nice component of the Gunn Creek is the full-length pad sleeve that will keep a 20-inch-wide sleeping mat attached securely to the bottom of bag, so you don't inadvertently wander off it when you're hiking in your sleeping.

- Q & A
barrel chested goodness
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I'm a barrel chested man with wide shoulder and rippling muscles. (some exaggeration). This bag fit great and keeps me warm. Very comfortable and not noisy. Very happy with my purchase and looking forward to more goodies from Backcountry.
For left zip/right zip, is the zip side based on when you lying down in the bag or when you're looking at it from the top? For example, is the picture above left zip b/c it's on the left side when you're in the bag, or right b/c that's what side it's on in the picture?
Hi Timothy, The left/right hand zip designation is listed as if you were on your back. For instance, if you are laying on your back and the zipper starts at your left shoulder you have a left zip bag that you will reach across your body and zip/unzip with your right hand. Hope that helps. If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out to me directly. - Matthew Pizza - Expert Gearhead
