    Where wild things sleep.

Sleep easy when you visit wild and rugged places with the Big Agnes Fish Hawk 30 Degree Down Sleeping Bag. At first glance you'll see the Fish Hawk isn't your standard sleeping bag. In what Big Agnes is calling its Contour shape, the bag is slightly roomier across the shoulders, allowing you to easily roll over or sleep on your side. Where the Fish Hawk really shines, though, is with its hydrophobic DownTek insulation. This technology marries the benefit of down with the dependability of synthetic insulation. The treated down fibers will resist moisture so the bag will maintain its insulating properties even when wet. On top of that, the outer fabric is treated with a water-resistant finish to further protect against water.

In addition to its roomy Contour shape, the Fish Hawk also totes several other features to make your backcountry sleeping experience that much more comfortable. The back of the bag is fitted with a full-length pad sleeve, which allows you to secure the bag to your sleeping pad. This means no more waking up with your sleeping pad at arms length while you're snuggled up against the cold ground. A soft and breathable polyester lining helps keep your temperature regulated, while a draft collar and tube prevent warm air from escaping throughout the night. The Fish Hawk comes with a nylon stuff sack and a mesh storage sack, so you can keep that down lofty between backpacking trips.

    Love this bag

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I've only used this bag so far on a 4 night trip and it was great. It was really comfortable. I loved the feature that I could slide my sleeping pad into the sleeve. I never had to worry about coming off my pad. I would highly recommend.

    Overall a good bag

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is a good bag for summer camping. The feature of sliding the air mattress into the bottom of the bag worked perfectly. The only negative is that it should not be rated to 30 degrees. We were sleeping in low-40-degree weather, fully dressed with socks and hats. The person using this bag was still cold enough that they needed another layer.

    Luxury camping

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I was going to do a Pro's and Con's list, but I haven't found anything wrong with this bag yet. The feature i am most satisfied with is the ground pad sleeve. On the bottom of the bag it uses the ground pad as insulation instead of the down which cuts a ton of weight. The zipper is super easy to use and doesn't get caught on the material. I love the rectagle shape over the traditional mummy. i like to move around when I sleep so the extra foot room is a HUGE plus! Not to mention since the ground pad is attached I am never rolling off my pad-that used to be a problem for me. Overall very pleased with this bag.

    Return pile.

Apparently down tech is not down. This bag is huge! It is advertised as 6x7, not even in a stuff sack. Good for car camping and slumber parties.

      Hey!

Down insulation loses a lot of loft when it stays compressed, that's the reason it comes in the laundry sack type bag. Pair it with a compression sack when you take it on trips and it will pack down very small! Once you get back, take it out of the compression sack and put it back in the laundry style sack or hang it up in your closet to make the bag last. I love my Fish Hawk! Let me know if you have any questions, I'd be happy to help!

      Bells and whistles included

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This sleeping bag has it all. The first selling point for me was the sleeping pad sleeve so that I no longer have to worry about slipping off the pad causing and uncomfortable night's sleep. The second selling point was the mid wide shape. This is not a traditional mummy which is great for side sleepers or those who tend to roll around. Third and fourth, the stuff size and weight are perfect for backpacking. Not the MOST ultra light bag but for the price and with all the bells and whistles I truly believe this is one of Big Agnes' best sleeping bags in production today.

      The best snuggles ever!

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Sorry I know such a silly title but seriously the best sleeping bag I have ever had. Great for summer and fall/early winter camping. I got this bag because my boyfriend has one but has a left zip so I got the right so we can zip them together. I love being able to have the room to move and snuggle up with my boo! The best part is that at the end of the day I still have my own bag if I want to go off on my own adventure. I highly suggest this for casual camping. It's a bit too heavy for backpacking.
