Pack the Big Agnes Elbert SL Sleeping Bag for a summertime backpacking trip through Olympic National Forest. This lightweight 35-degree mummy bag features PrimaLoft SB synthetic insulation, which has the feel and loft of down but doesn't clump and cause cold spots when it's wet\227a handy feature in the damp Northwest. As with all Big Agnes sleeping bags, a sleeve on the bottom holds your Big Agnes mummy sleeping pad in place, so you don't wake up achy and lying halfway off your pad. Stuff your camp pillow in the Elbert SL's hood pocket, and fall asleep to the sound of gentle rain pitter-pattering on your tent fly.

Bottom Line: Skip the sheep counting when you bed down in your lightweight, cozy Big Agnes Elbert SL Synthetic Sleeping Bag.

Not a mummy bag

By:
August 30, 2011

Just want to make this clear: this is not a mummy bag, it has no hood for your head, and when the temperature drops, there is no good way to keep warm out from spilling out around your neck. I do have to say that the bag is made of high quality materials, and it worked very nicely when integrated with the Air Core mummy pad. In short, if you are claustrophobic and a warm sleeper, then you'll probably love this bag. If you are skinny and it's cold outside, you'll hate it.

Portability and functionality

This sleeping bag is just what I was looking for. Thanks to the sleeve design there is less bulk so it compresses to a
compact size. Plus the sleeve design and air core mattress combo is very modular. Not to mention the light weight feature which rounds out the whole package.
