The Big Agnes Crystal 30-Degree Sleeping Bag features Dualmax construction, a combination of 650-fill down and PrimaLoft eco insulation, which makes it lightweight and warm even when wet. The unique combination of insulating materials in the Crystal Sleeping Bag is ideal for rainy-weather camping. Plus, this year the PrimaLoft comes from 50% recycled materials and thus diverted a few plastic bottles from the landfill. Like all Big Agnes sleeping bags, the Crystal has insulation only on the top and sides and has an integrated sleeping-pad sleeve on the bottom to hold your pad in place. *Compatible with 20in-wide Big Agnes rectangular pads.

Bottom Line: The Big Agnes Crystal sleeping bag provides the best of down and synthetic insulation.

not very warm

a typical summer night in colorado mtns not very warm. So i took advantage of BCs kick ass service and returned it for a Storm King. I think this bag would be kind of big and bulky for warmer weather.

this bag NOT good to 30 degrees

By:
November 4, 2009

I was in Yellowstone Park in August 2009 and froze in this bag. it couldn't have been cooler than 50 degrees. Was also in Idaho that same month and was very cold. Ended up in my boyfriends bag (thank you, he wasn't my boyfriend yet). Although sentemintal, I would like to return the bag if possible, the pad is great, the bag, not.

Yes. Both bags have a 70" zipper. Make sure you get a left zipper for one bag and a right zipper for the other.

Pretty Good Bag

By:

Only problem I have is with the sizing. 5'10" is too short for me, but I don't quite fill up 6'6", which means I've got a lot of empty space to create cold air. Much below 35 deg. and I'm wearing long johns and wool socks - might need to try filling up the bottom of the bag with clothes. I wish BA would have a Med. that would fit to 6'2". Otherwise, great bag - compresses well, dual zippers allow adequate ventilation in warmer weather, and typical BA quality, which is top notch.

bag it

I like the room that this bag has in it. When I use my un-insulated air core mat though a lot of heat is lost and I find my self getting cold easily even in the low 40s. When I use a regular foam mat I have no problems at all staying warm. It also will zip together with a Marmot bag. I would definitely buy this bag again. Packs down to a decent size. It's a little heavier than my 15 deg down bag but The synthetic is nice to have since I will mostly be using it in wetter areas.
