Cross Mountain Sleeping Bag: 40 Degree Polarguard Delta

The Big Agnes Cross Mountain sleeping bag is incredibly versatile and keeps you warm down to 40F. The Big Agnes Cross Mountain is super lightweight and highly compressible. For 2004, the bags actually test warmer than their temperature ratings, so you'll be able to sleep comfortably down to near freezing. It has a dual-purpose design: Use it as a warm weather summer bag or as an overbag that adds approximately 25 degrees to any traditional 3-season bag for winter camping. Simply insert the 3-season bag inside the Cross Mountain. Its Durable Water Repellent (DWR) outer shell fabric will shed moisture and keep the inside bag dry, ideal for winter conditions. Big Agnes makes sleeping bags without insulation on the bottom of the bag because down and synthetic insulation compressed by your weight loses virtually all of its insulating value. Instead, Big Agnes puts a sleeve in the bag floor into which you slide your sleeping pad, and the top 2/3 of the bag is insulated like a traditional sleeping bag. This system offers several major advantages: 1. An air or foam mattress provides more warmth than compressed insulation. 2. You're guaranteed never to roll off your sleeping pad in the middle of the night. 3. It reduces overall weight of the bag, and therefore your pack. 4. The bag and pad can be stuffed together for compact packing. Compatible with any 20in wide RECTANGULAR sleep pad.

Bottom Line: Summer or winter, you'll sleep more comfortably AND reduce the weight of your pack. Ingenious!

This bag rocks!!

I love this bag! I needed a warm weather bag, my -40 bag sucks in anything but cold weather, and the Big Agnes Cross Mountain is perfect! Their system of sliding your pad into it's own little pouch is genius. I'm a burly guy, and mummy bags and I have never gotten along. But this bag's plenty roomy, and with the pad attached, you NEVER slip off it. Genius. Top notch bag!

Pack small, stay warm

I pair this bag with a regular size therm-a-rest. Talk about a winning combination! I stay nice a toasty even with frost on the ground! I pack my pad separate from the bag, which allows the bag to compress into a small size Granite Gear Round Rock Solid Compression Sack. I love this bag!

Big Agnes - Nice Bag

By:

I took this bag on a long motorcycle trip through the Rockies this summer and it was awesome. The whole concept of slipping the pad into the bag is brilliant. I liked everything about it. It was easy to set up and pack. I don't like mummy bags per se, but this is like an oversized one so I can move around a bit. Add the Big Agnes pad, and you won't even feel the ground when you sleep! I wish the zipper went further down the side, but I slept so well I didn't notice.

Big Agnes Rocks

I like this bag a lot. I was reluctant to try the Big Agnes style of sleep, not insulation on the bottom and all. Talk about thinking outside the box. I was already sold on the Big Agnes Insulated aircore pad. I guess the bag was naturally the next step. I was concerned about the pad being attached to the bag because I thought side sleeping would be difficult. The bag is cut to allow side sleeping. Also another thing is this is very roomy. Lots of wiggle space. Great design. Great constrution. Great Bag.
