arrgggg... Just wrote this and had forgotten to log in first. here it is again....
I've had this tent for a year and love it. I have had it in driving rain storms and sandstorms and 0 degree 70 humid conditions and it has answered the bell. Here are my top items: 1) weight. After having lugged a NorthFace minibus 22 around this thing feels like a feather. I had a lot of concern about the material but problems so far. There is tear on my bag so I'm extra careful with the material since its so thin. 2) setup - setup is a snap except for where you attach the fly to the cross pole. This thing is a bear to attach and I had to give up once when my hands were cold. I have a beta 2012 version I got on sale from BA so perhaps that's the problem. 3) features - I've gotten use the door and just remember to kick it in although I would like to see a D-door instead. the pockets are located perfectly and hold a lot of gear. The head room is fantastic due the cross-piece holding the roof of the A-frame in place (modified A-frame (MAF) as Backpacker calls it). The length of the tent does seems short (90 " claim) and my 6'6" bag seems to hit both ends. The reflective guy lines are awesome. My friends all went bought reflective paracord to use on their tents after seeing my tent! The footprint is a must given the lightness of the material. I can't see using the gear loft. I need the headroom. without loft you can sit up and change. 4) Condensation - never had problems (not once) in the tent although the inside of the fly picks up a large amount on the winter and spring trips. The reviewer below who complained about water in the tent had a bad experience. They are right that the fly wont cover the whole tent but it does get within a few inches of the ground and what is exposed of the tent body is waterproof material (same as fly material). Bummer they didn't like the tent. I love it!!!
Great for 1 Person but not gear

This tent is extremely well made and mine only weighs in at 2lb 9oz with the stuff sacks and stakes. The fabric seems delicate, but it's ultralight, so that is expected. It is the perfect size for me to sleep comfortably in (I'm 5'9" and 160lbs). Still though, I have to say that it is not as roomy as other reviews claim it to be--yes, it is comfortable for one person, but there is not a chance that I could fit all my gear (minus food) inside it with me.
The vestibule is also on the small side and barely fits my pack, and I would not expect it to keep my gear dry in a heavy downpour. One reviewer mentioned fitting their dog inside with them--either their dog is sleeping ON them, or they have a chiuaua. There is barely enough room to fit my camera and a few other small items by my side, and that is enough for fair weather or where rodents are not a problem, but the 2 person version is my preferred solo tent so I can keep my pack safely inside where rodents won't chew on it or poop inside it. I switched to a tent from a hammock because I was tired of finding mouse turds inside my pack, and the UL1 doesn't really solve this problem.
Great buy

I love this tent, but have to return it. I also have the 2P, and love it for backpacking with my lab. I wanted to try the 1P for solo trips. Although big enough for some, it's just a wee bit too claustrophobic for my taste. Aside from not being "right" for me, the tent itself is simply awesome. I wouldn't have tried the 1P if I didn't love the 2P as much as I do. I LOVE the 2P. And the 1P would be just as awesome if I could get past the "too tight" feeling.

So close, yet so far....poor design

This tent is just plain poorly designed. You cannot secure the rain cover down over the base of the tent (at the four corners). Either the front or the rear corners WILL be exposed to rain, and WILL eventually allow mositure to enter the tent. As expensive a tent as this is, I am shocked that this thing is so poorly designed. I highly suspect the "favorable reviews" are bogus, or from people that really haven't used it in serious rain. And don't be fooled by the 90 inch length, I am only 6 feet tall, and can bearly position myself in the tent so that I don't touch the walls (they slope). Yes, it is otherwise well made, and I loved the light weight, but at this price, it is not worth the poor design..

A brief overview of the new 2012 Big Agnes Copper Spur UL1 Tent. Highlights showing the differences between it and the previous year model. And let's not forget it's free standing and only slightly heavier than a tarp/hammock setup. This is the one man tent to rule them all...

Notice how at 4 minutes and 13 seconds in the video, it shows that the corners of the tent at the lower end, are EXPOSED. After a heavy rain, I was DRENCHED at the lower end of the tent. It didn't matter how tight I tried to pull the cover over the corners, it was just short by and inch or 2....how dumb for a tent this pricey!

sweet tent! i just got back from a trip to banner peak in the high sierra. we had howling winds for days. this little gem behaved superbly! roomy for one, room for your large lab to join you, barely enough room for a small 'significant other'. beautiful functional door / vestibule arrangement- a lot more pleasant than the end- entry style on the big agnes fly creek tent. all my buddies are jealous.

Finally settled on this tent (summer 2012) after an exhaustive search, and my experience waiting out nasty storms in similar BA tents. One of the main selling points for me, at 6'2" tall, was the 90" length. While my feet brush the end of this one and I still wish it were longer, at least it's not jammed like many others. The other clinchers were the light weight, and the quality of BA's stitching. So many other tents out there are sewn like all the other cheap junk coming out of Asia. While this home is constructed there too, at least BA applies higher stitch-counts with high-quality. Lastly, I really enjoy the layer of nylon fabric between the floor and the mesh-netting; it adds a little privacy and blocks other peoples lights from glaring straight into your eyes while your lying in it at night (if you don't have the fly on). I wish BA would do the same on the doors of the Fly Creek series.
At first I was hesitant because the the door design lowering to the bottom, rather than the D-doors. After using it I actually don't mind the door, I just try to keep it 'in' the tent when it's down, and I like how wide it is. The only things I would improve is to have the door zipper sewn and taped, like Mtn. Hdwr. used to do, rather than the now standard felled double row of stitching. The taped way makes the doors much easier to glide open and close, and helps the zipper last longer. Also, despite my comments above, some of the stitching on the fly is a little sloppy in places, but no leaks so far.

I really like this tent and am due for an upgrade. I am a cyclotourist and the vestibule is too small for my gear. Is the 2008 vestibule attatchment compatable with this model (even though it doesn't match and/or is there a new version of that accessory?

Trish ,
Sorry that was an acessory attachment for the emerald mountain series it will not fit this tent. you could jump up and give yourself some room by going to the 2 person version .. it still has smaller pole lenghths to fit in paniers.
Single Vestibule, Copper Spur UL1

Hey all, just confirming that the description is incorrect, and the specs are. There is a single vestibule on the new model.

The new model also weighs less by 2 oz. AND the top cross pole is shorter and fits more like the Hubba design. The color of the rainfly is also different from older model. The pictures are correct here but not the specs.

Whiskeyfox nailed it. Looking like our specs have been corrected though, and now display (1) vestibule and (1) door.

Just FYI, this video must be for the older version of this tent, because the newer version does not have the small zippered access panel on the far wall of the tent.

This is a well-made tent as you might expect coming from Big Agnes. It is feels larger than it really is and has good headroom. It's light and set-up is a breeze. I have a full video review at backpackersreview.com
