Protective down in a convertible comforter.
Big Agnes' Big Pine Sleeping Bag is a rectangular bag that's light enough for backpacking and protective enough for camping in wet weather. Stuffed with 700-fill down insulation, the Big Pine brings the lofty warmth without much weight. Big Agnes treated the down with DownTek water-resistance to retain warmth in moist conditions, and the shell is water-resistant for extra protection.
The Big Pine does double duty when you convert it into a comforter by unzipping the full-length zipper. Its quilted lining should keep you comfy whether you're watching a football game in fall, a music festival in spring, or a campfire during the summer.

Big Agnes does it right!
- Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
I bought this for my aunt. She is a pilot flies her small plane all over Idaho to remote landing strips where she will camp out. She complained about being cold on a recent trip and she doesn't like mummy bags so I got her this. She has a lighter bag and will put this one inside of it to make it warm enough for fall and spring camp outs. I first tried the Brooks Range but it didn't loft right. This one has square panels that don't let the down drift around and get stuck in the corners leaving you with thin cold spots.
My Dad got this recently and loves it. He was tired of the mummy shape and wanted something roomier. It offers plenty of space to move around, but it still kept him warm into the low 30's this past weekend in Jackson.
Love this sleeping bag.
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I bought this bag as I wanted something large, comfortable, and warm for tent camping. I find cocoon bags too constricting for my feet and thus I don't sleep well in them anymore. I am 5 ft 7 in and medium-to-large body build (sz 14-16). I also wanted a bag that compressed to a reasonably small size, hence my choice of goose down. This sleeping bag was perfect for me as it really is a very large rectangle sleeping bag that I can stretch my legs out in. It is also extremely light and easy to pack into a small size. Although its on the expensive side for car camping, I am definitely pleased with the product.
What is the stuff size and compressed size?
Stuff size: 8"x17.5" or 20cm x 45 cm
Compressed Size: 8.5"x8.5" or 22cm x 22cm
