Bought this tent for family camping. Amazing amount of space. We can fit 2 adults/2 kids and all our gear very easily. Being 10 pounds, it is a little heavy and bulky to pack and hike with.
The bag it comes with is amazing. It is rugged, has handles and is easily packed and unpacked.
Took it on a nice 4 day hike into the backcountry in this picture. No complaints except how big/bulky it is to pack. Great tent. Has performed well with some light rain, no leaking etc.
2nd time setting it up was in the cold and dark, had no problems.
If you don't mind the weight and bulk, this tent rocks!

I'm considering purchasing the Big House 4. I can't tell from the photos but does the rainfly zip shut to cover both doors or does the rainfly simply provide an awning for each door?
Each door can be just the screen or actually zipped up solid.
A look inside
Here's a view to check out how much space the tent has- especially with the vestibule!
Couldn't be happer
This tent is absolutely fabulous! My boyfriend and I have this tent for car camping, and couldn't be happier with it. The setup is super easy, especially with two people. I love that the pack-bag is super easy to use as well, you're never jamming things in there- there is a lot of space. The fly is great and has held up so far- we haven't been in a downpour, only light rains and wind which are no match.
As for the space, the tent seems huge. There are only two of us, but we did want some extra room, which is exactly what we got. My bet is that you could easily fit 5 people in there, without being too crammed. I love the height as well, you can easily stand up and change without a problem. The mesh pockets around the walls of the tent are super handy too, you can be at least semi-organized! We also purchased the vestibule, which is easy to attach and set up. And perfect for the dog!
Overall, I am so happy with this tent. It's perfect for car camping!
Great car camping tent
We use this as our "luxury" car camping tent. I did a lot of research to find a tent that is tall enough for my 6'2" boyfriend to stand up inside. This was the tallest one I could find and we are really pleased.
It's easy to set up, the carrying case is great, and it has a nice balance of privacy and mesh for ventilation. The little skylight in the fly is a nice touch and there are tons of interior pockets. It survived a decent thunderstorm on its maiden voyage with no leakage.
I noticed a little condensation on the floor the first time we took it out, so I bought the footprint and that took care of it. It's probably better for the life of the tent, anyways.
I think this would be pretty cozy with four adults. Our BA Dream Island double sleeping bag takes up a good chunk of the floor space (granted, it's enormous), with some room for bags and such. Overall, this is a great tent and luxurious for two people!
The vestibule in action.
Roomy enough for two chairs to stay out of the rain and be comfortable.
Just wrapped up the maiden voyage using this tent. 3 days in Yosemite enduring cold wet weather and even a little snow. The tent set up in a flash and was easy to figure out. I got the vestibule and it was a real asset to have during the weekend. There was just two of us and the dog in the tent but there is no doubt enough room for four and possibly 5. There were no drip or leaks and the seams look great. I am not sure if i will add seam sealer to the tent (I usually do) but we will see. There are a lot of interior pockets for gear and having a front and back access door is convenient too, especially to let the pooch out in the early morning. Great job Big Agnes!!!! I would highly recommend this tent and the vestibule.
Is the fly on the back side of the tent...
Is the fly on the back side of the tent full coverage? I can see the front isn't but you can buy the vestibule.
No, just an awning the both doodrs are waterproof I have never had issues in any weather with this system. You can buy the addtional vestibule that will give you this or look at the King Creek model from Big Agnes it has a full featured fly.
great tent! worth every penny
Upgraded to this from a 2p marmot, the space is amazing! it's not a "backpacking" tent unless you split it among 2-3 people (easy to do) but very well made, tons of storage, and my favorite part, the headroom! i'm 6'1 and can stand in the center with no problem! due to the height just make sure you use the provided guy lines to secure the tent and she's as stable as a brick s*#t house! with four people + gear there is still room, for two to three it's lonley any you may get lost! ;)
I agree with Tina, this tent is great. It came quick and is a high quality tent!
We have had our Big Agnes Big House 4 tent for about 3-4 years now, and we have loved every minute we've spent inside it. We camp about once a month, so it has gotten a lot of use. This tent is absolutely amazing. We are a family of 5 with three adults and two teenagers, and although we rarely are all camping together at once, we all are able to fit in the Big House 4 (with our sleeping pads and bags) comfortably. We've used the Big House 4 to camp in Spring, Summer, and Fall and it has kept us comfortable in all of the elements. It is a breeze to set up as well. It can easily be set up by one person, but because of its size, there are usually two of us working on it, and we have it ready in no time. One of our poles has become slightly bent due to some mishandling, but it is not enough to cause any problems. The Big House 4 is an amazing tent that is definitely worth owning, especially for a big family of avid campers. You will fall in love with it!

Write your question here...Are there windows to cover the mesh openings to give some privacy?
Yes on the front doors. The fly will cover the mesh on the sides for privacy.

Does this tent have an extended vestibule -- similar to the one that fits the Big House 6 ?
The extended vestibule is sold separately. I didn't see it on backcountry.com, but you can buy it directly from Big Agnes here:http://www.bigagnes.com/str_tents.php?bid=11It won't be available until January 30th though.

How do the fly support poles above the doors attach? I don't see any hubs on the mail poles.
They're clipped in to the same hooks as the main poles. There aren't any hubs on this tent.

How does it compare to the seirra design - mondo condo in:
how does it do in high wind (mondo condo not so good.
I tried to research the Mondo Condo but all resources have dried up. The Big House 4 does great in windy situations but not as good a lower profile tent. The Mondo Condo has been replaced by the Moken 4 which is 4 sq. ft. larger, 7 lbs. heavier, & has a 45 sq.ft. living/vestibule area.
