The Big Agnes Women’s Amber SL Sleeping Bag saves weight by replacing the useless bottom insulation with a sleeve for your sleeping pad. This cuts ounces and keeps you from rolling off your pad in the middle of the night. Big Agnes bag also ads a women’s specific fit, a draft collar to hold in the warm air, and lightweight nylon to lower overall heft to just over two pounds.

Bottom Line: Sleep well. It’ll be a long day tomorrow.

I bought the Amber bag and like it very much. My question is how are you suppose to attach the bag straps to the bottom of the pad? The instructions seem to be for another Big Agnes bag. Thanks, Jack

Just got mine. It has a pouch in the upper 2/5 for the pad and then some straps that really are awkward. I just tried it out on the carpet and am debating whether to return it. I looped the strap through the side loop straps on the sleeping bag but it is awkard and you do slip off the bottom a bit. Should have a full length pocket.

Mine doesn't have a pouch in the bottom for the pad either. Just some weird straps that don't do much.

Straps? The bottom should have a wide slit for you to slide the pad into the bottom of the sleeping bag.

I haven't had a chance to test the sleeping bag outdoors, but I did try it out. It is very comfortable and the perfect length. Previously I needed to use a guy's sleeping bag that would slide around on the mat and was way too big. I really like how the mat stays in the slip pocket. I can't wait to be able to finally use it outdoors! It is a big difference from the other sleeping bag I had to use.

Big Agnes Amber SL Sleeping Bag

I'm pretty pleased with this sleeping bag, and personally I like the Big Agnes sleeping pad system. It saves a bit of weight, and I like not rolling off of my pad. I'm just over 5'4" and got the petite size. While the tech specs say the maximum user height is 5'8" I'd recommend the regular size for anyone 5'6" or 7" and up. If I were any taller I'd want the longer bag so my feet aren't squished. Also, I find the placement of the pillow sleeve slightly low in the bag. I use the bag with a regular length rectangular Two Track pad so that I can use it with my other non Big Agnes sleeping bag. This pad sticks out about 5" past my feet, and sticks out over the sides from the hip or so down, which doesn't bother me. Only the top of this bag has insulation removed from the bag (unlike some other Big Agnes bags where the pad sleeve is the entire length of the pad) which I think keeps this one warmer. I haven't been in especially cold temperatures yet, but I think I will stay reasonably warm until about 40 or 35 degrees. This bag does not zip two ways, which is the only main thing I would change.
